The Ranch
Welcome to our "Home on the Range" overlooking the majestic San Juan and Cimarron mountains. At nearly 8,000 feet atop Log Hill mesa, this mountain retreat offers the most spectacular views the western slope of Colorado has to offer. Perfectly situated between Ouray (30 minutes), Ridgway (20 minutes) and Telluride (1 hour), enjoy 35 private and wooded acres of hike, mountain bike, horse, snowmobile, cross country ski and snowshoe trails right outside your doorstep. Explore the fun shops and jeep tours in Ouray, the delicious restaurants and farmers market in Ridgway, and the slopes of Telluride.
PLEASE NOTE: We have a resident barn cat that lives on the property. She is very friendly and loves people. As this is her home, we are not able to put her away or remove her from the area as she relies on being outside for food and water sources. If anyone has a cat allergy or cannot be around cats, please take this into consideration before booking.
The Space
The house, detailed in beautiful, reclaimed barn wood, has three levels offering one bedroom with a queen bed and full bath on the main floor. The second floor has two bedrooms both with queen beds and balconies and a full bath to share. The 900 square foot basement has a large bedroom with a king bed, full bath, small kitchen, built in bunks (recommended for 16 and under), mud room and a cozy living room perfect for movie nights. The main floor family room offers plenty of natural light with a spacious kitchen and dining table for eight, comfy leather sofa and chairs by the fireplace and a wall of windows to enjoy the inspiring scenery. Step outside on the deck and relax into the tranquil surroundings - be sure to watch for the alpenglow and millions of stars at night.

Upstairs: 2 Bedrooms with a queen bed in each (total of 4 guests)
Master Bedroom on the Main Level: queen bed (total of 2 guests)
Basement: king bed and bunkbeds with full on bottom and twin on top (total of 2 adults and 2 children)

Information regarding pets: For "instant book" we only allow 1 dog per reservation. A $100 nonrefundable pet fee is imposed. For those wishing to bring 2 dogs please contact us prior to booking for approval. IF approved, additional insurance will be required.

Summary: Our Family has been coming to the Ouray area for the past 10 years renting different properties and we all think this pushes the number one spot. Clean and well stocked everything we needed was there. Great views and secluded. And yes don't forget about Barney the friendly Cat.

Summary: Our stay was absolutely wonderful! The views from the house were amazing. We spent some great family time on the back porch around the fire and dinner outside. We enjoyed walking around the property and Barney the cat was very friendly. Watching the deer in the morning was a plus. We all had a fantastic time and the kids loved Pip (the goat) also.

Summary: We absolutely loved our stay in this charming little Chalet. I did not want to leave and wish we could live there. The views were spectacular, it was a cozy cabin with everything we needed. It was the perfect location and set up for our group. We were in the area visiting our daughter and grandchildren. This home made for the perfect location for our little family to have dinner and play table games together. We loved seeing wildlife each evening and the local cat was quite the companion. Nikki was quick to respond with answers to any questions I had. We definitely hope to come back in the future and would highly recommend this chalet to anyone looking to visit the area. I fell in love with it.

Summary: Immaculate property, everything thing you need is on site. In all of our years of traveling, I don’t think we’ve ever had such a spectacular view in all direction. Simply breath taking. I almost didn’t see the need to leave at all, just a book and a glass of wine while enjoying the mountains. We were able to bring our dogs which was greatly appreciated, they travel everywhere with us. The corgi was a little mad most of the time because the barn cat sat in my lap more than he did and both dogs enjoyed the cat walking with us every morning
