Our family has vacationed on Hatteras Island for decades, and we’ve filled our home with the features we always valued. We hope you feel appreciated the moment you arrive.
Inside, our Game Room offers a full-sized Kick Triumph foosball table, a regulation dart board, and a flat-screen TV to catch the game. Our Living Room boasts a 65-inch flat-screen TV with Roku streaming and HDMI ports, a cozy electric fireplace, a high-quality radio with Bluetooth speaker, and a spacious sectional for family movie nights. For those blissful indoor days, we've shared our novels, short stories, cookbooks, magazines, board games, puzzles, coloring books, and art supplies.
Outside, we offer four kayaks (two single and two fishing), two inner tubes, a fish-cleaning table, a custom charcoal grill station, a spacious outdoor shower enclosure, and a 70-foot boardwalk for fishing, lounging, and dipping your toes in the sound. Toss our frisbees, fly our kites, flaunt your impressive cornhole game, and express yourself with sidewalk chalk. We have comfortable Adirondack chairs for soaking in the rays, a hot tub/spa for sunset happy hour, a sheltered hammock for breezy summer days, and a telescope for stunning Milky Way nights.

Summary: Had a party of 5 with the purpose of going on a fishing trip for 2 guys who were getting married. Each wedding later this year. It was amazing. The house and location could not have been more perfect. We almost didn’t even want to go fishing because of the location and view of where we were at. We became obsessed with kayaking and fishing off the dock. We even found an old crab trap under the house that we took advantage of and caught some crabs as well! The house itself had more than enough room for the 5 of us and had nearly everything we needed. Even the things we didn’t know we need d! Some of the guys on the trip who have never been to the OBX now plan to bring their own families and want this house to be their starting experience! Thanks to Amanda for being an amazing owner and sharing this fantastic experience with us. She could not have made it any easier!

Summary: This place is absolutely amazing. Close to beach access and beautiful sunsets over the sound. Outdoor set up was perfect for our family after a day on the beach. We will definitely stay here again. The host was very responsive and easy to work with. A major incentive of staying here was the house came with everything you need to play at the beach and at the house (beach chairs and toys, fishing poles, backyard games, etc.).

Summary: This house truly has everything you need to have the best vacation! We enjoyed every amenity offered. The owners really thought of everything. The outside decks had the best views of the sound and beautiful sunsets. The Adirondack chairs were perfectly placed. We used the hot tub multiple times. We enjoyed the kayaks a few times as well. We made use of the cornhole boards and the beach chairs! My kids loved the outdoor shower. Inside had everything we needed to cook the perfect meal and we loved the way the house was decorated! So cute!! The place was immaculately clean! The beach is a short drive away. The neighborhood is quiet and great for walking. We would definitely stay here again!

Summary: AMAZING Best Box! This house has everything plus some! Comfortable layout, beautiful views, easy drive to the beach, better stocked kitchen than my house, and entertainment galore! My 17 year old sons were never bored and that says a lot! Kayaks, floats, darts, foosball, games a plenty, fishing, beach games… We will definitely stay here the next time we go to the outer banks!

Summary: The Best Box is the BEST House we have ever had the pleasure of “living” at on the OBX! We have stayed in this neighborhood before and it is nice and quiet and has a great view. This house is amazing! It was even more beautiful in person. Everywhere you look in this house there is something pretty to look at - I felt guilty for wanting to be outside:) The house is stocked with EVERYTHING you need. The only thing you really need to bring are a few beach towels. We loved the outdoor shower room- we would leave our clothes and clean towels downstairs so we never had to bring sand in. We took advantage of the games, art supplies and all the outdoor fun stuff. I could go on and on. We love our time here!!

Summary: Property is even better than described. The personal touches in the house are just adorable and made us feel so happy and comfortable. Details like plenty of hooks, shelving, end tables, labelled kitchen drawers and cabinets, etc. throughout made us even more comfortable. Neighborhood is fun to explore on bikes. I could go on and on. This place really deserves all these good reviews. Believe us.

Summary: This place is amazing. Very well thought out and well maintained. The property is right on the water with beautiful sunsets. Plenty of toys for adults and kids both inside and outside. Summary: The Best Box is AMAZING! First and foremost, the waterfront views are stunning. The home itself is clean, updated, and thoughtfully decorated. This house has everything you need for vacation - and things you didn’t even know you need. The owners have really gone above and beyond to make sure the home is outfitted with everything you need for an amazing and relaxing getaway. The home is so comfortable. The location is perfect. Easily accessible to great restaurants and lots to do in the area. You could even choose to never leave the house and still have an amazing vacation. My family most enjoyed the kites and the telescope….things I never knew we would ever enjoy so much. I look forward to returning to this home again for a relaxing vacation. The owners were also super easy to communicate with and very knowledgeable about the area. A storm was forecasted for the day we arrived and they were kind enough to reach out to us in advance and let us know.
