Welcome to paradise! You'll have your very own 600 sq foot, 2 bedroom cottage overlooking the Ottawa river. This outstanding rental will afford you all the comforts of home, with a million dollar view & incredible sunsets. The space features tasteful décor. You'll be 20 mins away from Oka park where you can enjoy the 7km long sandy beach in the summer or snowshoeing in the winter. Hiking is possible year-round. There are also local wineries & sugar shacks nearby.
The cottage is suitable for a maximum of 4 adults. There are 2 small closed bedrooms and a small mezzanine loft ( ladder accessible, this space is empty). Summary: 1. The parking space was adjacent to many overflowing garbage containers, creating a serious bio-hazard danger. 2. The air-conditioning unit apart of being extremely noisy is undersize and did not provide any significant relief for the heat. 3. The fridge was dirty and had broken handle, seemed to be a goodwill acquisition. 4. Furniture throughout the house was barely functional. 5. The bathroom was dirty. 6. The kitchen faucet was broken. We had to find another accomodation after two days spent there

Summary: Cute cottage, stylishly decorated. Owner responsive to emails. However, this place needs some attention. Upon arrival, it was quite warm/hot inside (26C). A/C unit soooo loud, could not carry conversation. Watch app recorded 82 db! I called owner, as was afraid it was broken, and talked in front of the unit. She said it was an older unit, and nobody else had complained, apologized for it not being to my standards and opening windows was an option. There was no way we could sleep with the noise, and it rattled on outdoor deck too, so “useless” in my opinion. We had to go outside when running it, then turn it off while indoors. Bathroom towel rung fell off wall upon arrival (loose plugs which appeared to have been previously fixed and now had even bigger holes) and shower curtain liner needed changing (stained, not-so-clean plastic). I shook our bath mat upon arrival, as ?clean (hair/fluff?grass)? Toilet and tub were clean, though. Fridge door had no handle, + BBQ had no handle (but I was advised of BBQ when emailed the door code) and the side of BBQ was about to fall off. We used oven mitt to open it, though there was only 1 oven mitt provided. Also, 3 pots but one missing a lid. Raft oar broken, had to borrow tape from a neighbour + use kindling to strengthen it (rendering it unable to be rowed with, only like a paddle, which was awkward), then noticed raft lost some air despite us adding some before going on water. Life jackets were new and very clean. Umbrella in photos of patio set is not available - I inquired but was told it is a new patio set (different than photos). Fine, but there was a hole for umbrella on new one too, and use of one would’ve been nice. 1 weirdly orange-stained towel, but we had 2 extra so were OK. The last problem was puddling of water under sink after doing dishes. After cleaning this out, we had to use recycling bin to avoid damage. Owner was polite and responded to my complaints, but I felt deceived by the photos and descriptions, expecting better quality and actual availability. Perhaps a little TLC of some of these details would’ve made the stay more enjoyable, especially the air conditioning (!). We paid enough money for it, but will definitely not be returning.

Summary: Great little spot on the river (Oka beach less than 1/2 hour away) The cottage itself was really cozy and very clean. It had a nice little breakfast nook with a full view of the water which our kiddos absolutely loved. The back deck (w/ a BBQ) also has a full view of the water. We would go back for sure.

Summary: This place is small and very clean, but a bit far from the online pictures. We found many things that were broken as we started to unpack and explore the property ( BBQ handle, Plastic paddle for the boat, folding chair) - which made it a bit disappointing, because they couch is very small for only two people. We were fortunate that have brought lawn chairs with us. The property listed air conditioning on site- they have a small old air conditioning unit in the kitchen that makes the sound of small motorcycle - rather annoying- which makes is very inconvenient to hang out inside at night watching TV or sleeping- We were subjected to leave it on during the day and hang out mainly outside to ensure the place was cold at night. I think for hot summer says the air conditioning is not up to par. The lake access is not quite attractive because the shore is full of stones and algae, also a bit far fro the pictures. Overall, we would say the property was not worth the daily rate we paid, but we made the best of it.

Summary: We enjoyed our stay very much. Check in was easy, Jennifer was very accommodating and quick to reply. Beds were very comfortable. It was so relaxing sitting on the deck looking out at the water and scenery. Thank you Jennifer for being a gracious hostess.
