Positive: Sharon is a lovely and friendly host and she is passionate about her project of renovating this impressive chateau. The chateau is in a beautiful rural setting but just a short drive to the City of Limoges as well as other interesting towns and villages. Our room (Louis X1V) was huge and grand with Sharon's mix of period and contemporary furnishings. But while it looked impressive, a few things let it down.
Negative: Our vast bedroom was too cold, there was no heating other than a small plug in electric heater which made no impact at all, in fact the only warm place was in the bed which had a very welcome electric blanket. The modern 4 poster looked great, but it squeaked loudly whenever either of us moved, waking us up throughout the night. Also, there are no curtains at the windows so you are woken at sunrise. To be clear, we weren't expecting the comforts of a modern hotel when staying in a C18th chateau, and I'm sure if we had stayed during warmer weather our experience would have been better, but the room would definitely benefit from some heating and curtains. We wish Sharon well with her project and offer these comments to be helpful rather than critical.

Positive: Sharon the Chatelaine was an excellent hostess. I am vegetarian and my dietary requirements were met . I was treated like a VIP .
Negative: I honestly don't think there was anything that I didn't like .
Summary: Warm and friendly where nothing was too much trouble for the hostess .

Positive: We loved the chateau, in particular the original decor and authentic furnishings that Sharon has used to furnish the spacious and romantic bedrooms. There are clearly many challenges in restoring a historic building, but Sharon has overcome these and Les Villettes is a gem of a place and not to be missed if travelling in this area. We enjoyed a breakfast of scrambled eggs, fresh fruit, croissants and home made conserves which was all delicious and served in a beautiful dining room. Recommended sans reservation!

Positive: This was a fantastic place with wonderful character. The rooms were styled with great flare and Sharon and her team were helpful and personable. We had a romantic dinner which was prepared and served beautifully. A delightful experience and certainly returning next trip to France!

Positive: From the first view when coming round the corner of the long drive it was like entering a different world. It is beautiful and has been furnished sympathetically to its period so that it feels as if it has always been so. All mod cons without affecting the authentic feeling. The owners are welcoming and make you feel at home.

Positive: Beautifully presented property offering a number of luxury rooms. Very peaceful location (a car is necessary). Sonia is a wonderful host and provided plenty of local recommendations and a very nice breakfast. The bed was extremely comfortable and the linen was luxurious. Highly recommended!
