Positive: The staff were beyond helpful and attentive, with a particular gentleman in the evening staff going above and beyond to make the experience enjoyable. The Facilities themselves were also of a good standard, with very decent rooms for the price point.

Negative: The cleanliness of the rooms really left a lot to be desired. The sheets on the bed alone often had very visible stains, and some areas of the room not being all that clean. Ideally, some really fresh sheets after the rooms were cleaned would have made things much better.

Summary: It was a very fair experience with its own pros and cons, but the potential is there.

Positive: Chinyonga is nestled into a lush oasis conveniently located to all the places you want to go in Blantyre and Limbe. Mature fruit trees and gorgeous greenery surround you, and the sparkling pool beckons guests on hot days. The view of the mountains is spectacular and the city lights twinkle in the distance at night. My room faced northwest, so I had a sunset view through the clouds. The staff and owners are beyond extraordinary and made me feel SO welcome during my stay. While you are here (and maybe come just for this), you MUST try the chicken khwasu•khwasu - it is the BEST I’ve tasted in any of Malawi’s regions. Freshly prepared to order, the chicken is tender and flavorful. Whether you get with nsima (and delicious relish) or chips, you will enjoy every bite!

Positive: Very welcoming and professional staff. Great breakfast included, keeps you going for the whole day. Swimming pool, and you can bring your own guests for a relaxing afternoon. Laundry service at a reasonable price.

Negative: Ineffective mosquito nets. The bed has a canopy, but mosquitoes are able to get into the room from gaps under the door and windows left open after cleaning. Nothing around, requires a taxi to go anywhere, which can get expensive over time. Restaurant food a bit pricey compared to the area.

Positive: The meals were good and the location of the guest house gives you the quietness that one would like. The staff is very hospitable- welcoming and willing to help in anyway to make clients comfortable.

Positive: Wonderful staff and host. They picked us up from the airport. We found the driver already waiting for us. The host deserves a 5 star. She was going out of her way to make us feel comfortable. We really felt at home. Simple and nice breakfast was served in the morning.

Negative: Not much to do in the area. It’s a nice overnight stop if travelling to outside Blantyre. We going to hike Mount Sapitwa (Mulanje) we landed in Blantyre, we were hoping to do a few activities in the area before leaving for the mountains. We only visited Museum, Arch, market and Shoprite.
