Summary: The hotel overall was a good place to stay. It was nothing crazy, more of a place to sleep and recharge to explore the city. The room we stayed in was pretty small and we could not really open our suitcases fully (but we expected this in Paris). The AC worked well and the bed was comfortable. The worst part was definitely the shower. You could not shower without flooding the entire bathroom. We had to constantly put our big towels down to absorb the water. The location was great very central and could walk to places easily.

Summary: I had a lovely check in at the Chou Chou hotel, I found the area (9th arr.) to be so lively and a great place to stay! The room was quite small, but the shower was amazing. There is a bar/club downstairs and played really loud until late at night. However, the room is adequately sound proof so it was fine. Although the hotel is quite small, and it seemed a tad run down, it was an excellent stay.

Summary: We stayed for 5 nights for my husband’s 50th birthday. We wanted somewhere special, but not ‘stiff’. After careful research, we landed on Chouchou. There’s lots to like. Beds comfortable, front desk staff helpful & great central location. But we were disappointed overall. We just didn’t feel it had the special touches to merit 4*. Our water bottle in the room was not refilled or cleared once empty (same with the empty box of complimentary macarons). We had to ask for water refills. We requested an ironing board & it was just left in our room for the rest of our trip despite us asking for it to be removed (it’s a big board in a compact room!). Mainly our issue was with the ‘bar’ which had appealed to us when we were researching hotels. We thought it looked like a fun place to return for a night cap rather than trying to find somewhere in a city so large. Wrong. With the exception of our 1st night (Tuesday) the bar turned into something closer to a sweaty night club or raucous wedding party. Bodies packed in, people dancing on tables & screaming at the top of their lungs. Twice we tried to enter to go to the bar but it was impossible so we took drinks to our room where there was only one chair! The themed disco nights are not designed with hotel guest experience in mind. We felt isolated from this amenity & looked elsewhere. Our room location meant we didn’t hear noise but imagine other rooms do (see other reviews). We were also not offered upgrade or use of the baths.
