This Georgian family property dating from 1734, has been completely renovated and is approached by a curving drive through its own parkland and is situated with a southerly aspect enjoying far reaching views over the lake and surrounding glorious countryside. The rear of the house is enfolded by a beautiful traditional terraced walled garden with a private heated indoor swimming pool and a fully equipped gym.
Whether it is a weekend away with friends or a family celebration, Oakhampton park is the perfect luxury venue.
Oakhampton park is not a hotel, it is a relaxing family home, sumptuously comfortable, with plenty to entertain you and your children whatever the weather. You will have exclusive occupancy of the house, garden and facilities for your stay, so the feeling of privacy is complete.
There are 12 double bedrooms, most with private bathrooms, each with their own unique character.

The relaxing accommodation includes 2 elegant drawing rooms with open fires, a dining room seating up to 24, snooker room, three separate television areas, and plenty of private nooks where you can curl up with a good book.
The area is wonderfully rural with country pubs and small local villages close by.
Wiveliscombe, just 2 miles away, has a thriving centre where you can browse in tempting independent shops. You could organise a day of horse trekking or cycling on the Quantock hills, take a trip on the steam railway to Minehead, or visit one of the many historical sites in the area. Or you could just relax by the pool and enjoy good company.
Well behaved dogs are welcome and there are long or short walks for them to enjoy over the farmland or down to the lake and woods. We are only a short drive away from many beautiful walks over the Quantock Hills or along the coast. Blue Anchor beach is especially beautiful and very welcoming to dogs.

Summary: Jim is the perfect host - great comms before, very helpful with the odd query when we arrived - best of all, made us feel so comfortable to use the house like our home. We had a full house of 4 generations for my dad’s 80th - facilities were perfect to keep everyone occupied - pool and gym were big hits!Thanks so much (my dad is talking about us all coming back for his 90th…)

Summary: Fantastic space for a large group, lovely large kitchen and dining room, great snooker room and fab pool and sauna. We were four families and 22 people in total. We go away together every other new year so we are used to renting large properties. Oakhampton Park is a fabulous space for a large group, but was let down by lack of cleanliness and very intermittent heating and hot water.

Summary: What a fabulous place to stay! We had the most relaxing holiday and there is so much to do at the house. The pool was exceptional as was the sauna. There is table football and a full sized snooker table which we enjoyed in the evenings after dinner. It was like having a fabulous hotel all to ourselves. The location is very quiet but close enough to town to just have a short drive for dinner. Would definitely recommend!

Summary: Lovely big house for 25 of us. The dining room was perfect. Plenty of utensils and amenities in the kitchen area. All rooms and bathrooms were clean. Snooker room a hit. Swimming pool was fabulous. Kids had so much fun (so did adults ). Views and gardens lovely. Would recommend.

Summary: We loved this rambling house set within beautiful gardens and all had a very happy and relaxed stay. Despite being a large group (25 at times) there was a great feeling of space and a quiet spot could always be found for reading or a quiet catch up. The grandchildren loved the pool and spent hours there each day. Older family members enjoyed evenings playing snooker. All spent much time in the garden - from breakfast in the sunshine through to wine in the evenings. A memorable stay and enjoyed by everyone - from 7 to 80!
