Cloudy Bay Cabin is situated on the southern coast of Bruny Island. This private and remote accommodation is surrounded by the South Bruny National Park and fronts onto the magnificent Cloudy Bay beach. If you are looking for peace and quiet in beautiful surroundings then Cloudy Bay Cabin can provide it. Access is by a private unsealed track which leads in 4 km from Cloudy Bay Rd and is suitable for all vehicles. The nearest neighbour is out of sightat least 1km away. The beach in front of the cabin is suitable for families to swim, wander and play. The beach at this end of the bay is calmer making it ideal for younger children. A recent comment was that the gas heater is a great instalment, as chopping wood and relighting fires after a hard days relaxing was no longer fun.
Come and enjoy the changing moods of one of the most beautiful beaches in Tasmania. You will have expansive views across Cloudy Bay into the far off south-west ranges (snow capped in winter) and in mid summer you can watch the sunset over south east cape which is the most southerly point in Australia.
Visitors will also have grandstand views of the huge swells that regularly roll in from the southern ocean and which make middle bay and lagoons at the western end of the beach very popular places for surfers.
Alternatively, the eastern end of the beach, known as Boat Harbour, is sheltered and peaceful which makes it ideal for children or the less adventurous.
The cabin is unique in design. Made from locally grown and saw milled timber it provides a warmth and ambience which is hard to match. To maintain the unspoilt nature of the area the cabin utilises alternative power systems. Power is provided by a combination of solar panels and LP gas which are able to provide all of the usual amenities except a washing machine. However visitors should be aware that the cabin has a 12 volt system and therefore no coffee grinders or hair dryers can be used.(If you need a phone bring a car charger).
Swimming, surfing, canoeing, fishing, boating, windsurfing are all at your doorstep. There is always the chance of seeing porpoises, seals or the occasional whale. Also the area has a diverse range of birdlife for the enthusiast to enjoy.
Cloudy Bay Cabin is located on a 133ha bush block so there is ample room to wander without being disturbed. A large area around the cabin is kept mown so there is plenty of space for children to play safely.
The Cabin has a King bed in the master bedroom.A bunk room with two sets of single bunks (4 beds) and a double bed hidden in the lounge setting.This makes it ideal for families or people who are comfortable sharing space.The fold out bed can be easily tucked away during the day so the couch can be used.

Summary: Stayed with hubby and our 2.5yr old in July 2024. She adored watching the paddymelons out the window every morning. We made some fabulous memories on what felt like our own private beach. The cottage was very warm in living areas and bedrooms and the kitchen had every possible utensil one might need during their stay. I was impressed with how much wind was sheltered through the front door set up, which was particularly helpful for keeping the house cosy while hubby and I took turns of photographing aurora Australis each night. We'll be back again for sure!

Summary: If you need some peace and time to unwind Cloudy Bay Cabin is what you need. A beautiful log cabin on a windswept bay at the bottom of Bruny Island. It's clean and comfy ,the big bed is gorgeous and the views are amazing. Can't recommend this place enough.

Summary: Bruny Island Cabin is a truly amazing! Not for everyone but if your one of those who likes to get away from it all, this is for you! Great views, lovely long walks along the beach. It may not be one of the flashiest along Cloudy Bay Beach but it has all you need & is very comfortable & it certainly has the easiest access to the beach. I would certainly return there when I am next on Bruny Island

Summary: We stayed for 3 nights. It is just a stunning place to unwind and relax. The rustic cabin was comfortable and warm and only added to the unique experience of this awesome place. The views and wilderness of this location are amazing and is the perfect place to get away from it all. We will be definitely staying here again.

Summary: We had an absolutely wonderful week at Cloudy Bay cabin. The remote location, direct beach access and the stunning sweeping views across the bay are several reasons that make this location for a holiday so unique and memorable. It was unfortunate that parts of the log cabin could only be described as filthy.

Summary: One of the most beautiful places I have ever stayed. Relaxed, comfortable accommodation with the most spectacular views. Amongst the most beautiful wilderness possible. Was just a stones throw away from Cloudy Bay Beach. Peaceful, tranquil and relaxing. The most amazing view of Cloudy Bay. Accomodation isn't fancy but is very comfortable and has a well equipt kitchen. We couldn't BELEIVE the location when we arrived. We will be back again for sure.
