Summary: This unit was an awesome find. It is a quiet adult community which is perfect for my husband and I. No screaming kids at the pool or in the complex and no loud residents or guests! Each of the 3 bedrooms and the living room have views of the canal. The furniture is well appointed. There is a beach that is a five minute walk that was never crowded. Some of the units have full time residences that are friendly and helpful. We loved watching the turtles and manta rays from the balcony. A car is required to explore the island. The host is responsive and accommodating. Thank You for your hospitality! The complex is a 10-20 minute drive to many beaches, restaurants and grocery stores. There are a lot of restaurants that serve similar fare. There is very little ethic food diversity on the island. Fired cracked conch, fried conch fritters and fried snapper are on many menus. Grilled fresh fish filets seemed impossible to find. Grouper is on many menus but it is only available in season Dec - Feb. Understanding the nuances on the island is important to planning your day. Check out the cruise ship schedule to avoid excursion destinations. Restaurants There are a few notable restaurants. Check their hours and days of operation. Banana Bay - Conch Chowder was good. The conch was tender. Great Long Island Iced Tea. Stoned Crab - Expensive but good. We had the Red Thai Chilli Chicken. They were closed on Monday and Tuesday the week we visited. Jamaican Delish Delight - Open M-F We enjoyed the Curry Chicken and the Jerk Chicken. They have take out or dine in. We visited twice. Solomons Lucaya Grocery on East Sunrise Hwy has a deli. The menu changes daily. They start serving at 12 - 12:30 and sell out by mid afternoon. They serve hot dishes and sides. The Yellow Curry chicken on Monday was good. They also had pork tenderloin and chicken which we didn't try. We did get a whole jerk chicken that was good. The locals shop on weekends and the line at the deli counter on Sunday was 8 people deep. There is a liquor store and pizza place in the same complex. Sawyers Market Fresh (across from Taino beach entrance) has hot deli, deli meats and a soup and salad bar. The oxtail was good and the salad bar was nice. They had salmon filets one day, which we didn't try. Due to the stores ensuring food was fresh, you need to get there before 2pm to ensure availability. This meant we went to the store to see what they had, then ran back to the house with the groceries.

Summary: Host contacted us early to let us know we could check in which was nice. The only hiccup was not giving us the code to the gate so we were outside for a bit. Unit was spacious with all modern appliances and everything needed for a comfortable stay. There was tea. Coffee. water and all amenities. I would definitely stay here again. Worth the stay..my new home away from home. Washer/Dryer in unit was a plus. Love it!

Summary: Overall stay very nice, beautiful setting on canal . Enjoyed watching stingrays and turtles. Very quiet. Definitely need car or taxi to get around. Could have had more Amenities: cutlery, large serving bowls. Not well set up for cooking. Dishwashwer was not hooked up. Fridge was freezing food. Needs instructions for air conditioning. Everyone was generally helpful but unit not set up to standards portrayed.
