Summary: We had a lovely short break here. The cottage is small and perfectly formed, to provide luxurious accommodation for two. The bed is comfy and (a surprisingly rare thing), there’s a powerful, large shower. The weather turned on us and nights were chilly under the summer duvet. Richard responded quickly when I asked about something warmer and the problem was solved. When the sun did shine, the garden was a sun trap. There’s plenty to do in the area. We chose local walks and relaxing. Thank you to Julia and Richard, who have furnished and equipped Flint with care. It’s a gem.

Summary: Loverly Property, good location, excellent support from the owner. Downside with no reflection on the property was we were hugely disappointed with the food offer locally. Four local pubs visited, wouldn’t return to one of them. Coast and Countryside Gorgeous

Summary: Stayed for a long weekend in February 2020. A charming cottage, updated to a high spec, very clean, tidy and lots of home comforts. The wine on arrival was a nice touch. The locals at ‘The Star Inn’ were all very friendly and recommended places to visit. The food at the pub was extremely tasty too. A great weekend.

Summary: We spent three nights over Christmas in this lovely little one-bedroom cottage, tucked away in Wenhaston, Suffolk. Initial impressions were good. The cottage was clean, cosy and welcoming. Julia and Richard had left us a bottle of Prosecco, a little Christmas present and a couple of foil baking trays for Christmas dinner. They also provided a house manual, full of useful information, from how to operate the stove, to recommendations for local pubs, walks and tourist attractions in nearby towns and villages. The kitchen was compact, but well equipped, with an oven, dishwasher, fridge freezer and more than enough cutlery, crockery and utensils. Everything we needed was there - salt and pepper, cooking oil, washing-up liquid. There was really no need to bring anything. Much of our time was spent in the cosy living room, in front of the wood-burning stove. A basket of wood, kindling and fire lighters were provided and we paid £5 for an extra bag of logs. This was enough for a three-night stay. The steep stairs to the first floor might be challenging for people with restricted mobility. They led to a spacious bedroom with a comfortable double bed, with an exceptionally warm duvet. Anyone with a normal human metabolism might want to bring something with a lower tog, to avoid overheating in the night. The adjoining bathroom was clean, with a large shower, but no bath. The cottage was warm and comfortable throughout our stay (24-27 December). It was very quiet and well situated for walks in the Suffolk countryside. Julia was very helpful and quick to respond to messages in advance of our arrival. Julia and Richard have obviously thought hard about the experience of staying in their cottages, and have anticipated and catered for the needs of their guests. The cottage exceeded our expectations and we would definitely stay at one of their cottages again.

Summary: A very sweet cottage that has been sensitively restored and extended. Good bedroom and bathroom and great shower at the top of a very narrow steep staircase. Kitchen and dining room very good as well. Slight smell of dog which I don't care for but we knew that pets were allowed in this property. All in all a very good stay - it would be good to try it at another time of the year when the weather might be better for walking.

Summary: The cottage is beautiful, clean and well positioned. Unfortunately we were a little cold as the heating did not work for the duration of our stay. Fortunately we managed to light a fire in the log burner which made a massive difference but the bathroom and bedroom upstairs were very cold.

Summary: We had a pleasant break as the location was good for going to different beaches in the area. The garden at this property is a peaceful haven. The cottage is clean and fine for two people. No pantry items though. We have stayed in many cottages with this company and there is always milk in the fridge, which is very appreciated when you have had a long journey and need a cup of tea. No sugar, salt etc even though the cottage details stated pantry items being there. Take everything with you! When I mentioned that it was a shame there was no milk to the owner she said it was because of allergies. The cottage was not ready for us on arrival so we hung around at a cafe for a bit. When we left the cleaners were on the doorstep before we drove off. And we had to put the bin out for collection when it full to the brim and none of the rubbish was ours, bizarre! I questioned this with the owner who said they couldn't drive for two hours to put the bins out. The dishwasher wasn't useable as it left everything crusty with a residue. All the crockery and utensils in the cupboards were coated. I hope these issues are addressed for future guests, because otherwise it could be a delightful place.
