3 Bedroom Cottage in Chillington

Iris is a converted barn located in beautiful grounds in the secluded hamlet of Stancombe. It comprises high quality self-catering accommodation with all the modern utilities including wifi, washing machine, dish washer, microwave, electric hob and oven and well equipped kitchen. There are TV's in the living room (with inbuilt DVD) and each of the downstairs bedrooms.
Stancombe includes superb leisure facilities including a heated indoor swimming pool (6m x 13m), outdoor tennis court, snooker room with full sized table, games room with table tennis, pool table, table football, an outdoor children’s play area and golf pitch and putt. There is a barbecue area at the front of the cottage. Stancombe is set in beautiful grounds offering a delightful holiday in all seasons.
Iris is a “topsy turvy” cottage comprising 3 bedrooms — 1 double ensuite on the ground floor and two twins with a shared bath/shower room on the lower ground floor. Living accommodation includes open plan lounge / diner / kitchen on the ground floor.
There is a private courtyard at the back of the property with table and chairs whilst the front, also equipped with table and chairs, offers a wonderful view of South Devon countryside overlooking the golf, children's play area and tennis court.
A selection of lovely beaches are within a short distance of Stancombe, as well as interesting towns like Kingsbridge, Salcombe and Dartmouth. Plymouth with it's aquarium and maritime history is also worth a visit as is the dramatic and beautiful Dartmoor National Park. There are some fabulous eateries in Dartmouth along with the Dart Valley steam Railway which runs from Dartmouth to Paignton..
There are numerous outdoor activities available in the area including surfing, sailing, canoeing, swimming, indoor sports hall in Kingsbridge, pony trekking, fishing, hiking, clay pigeon and air rifle shooting, cycling, Golf etc

Summary: Our family of 4 with kids aged 7 & 4 loved the house, kids slept really well in the dark cool downstairs bedrooms. And they loved being right next to the tennis court and a walk to the nearest village. The narrow lanes are not for the faint hearted but worth it for Kingsbridge and Salcombe.

Summary: We had a wonderful 4 days at Iris Cottage. Set in beautiful countryside, the accommodation was lovely and the facilities on site were perfect for our group. Swings and play room for youngest to tennis, snooker and golf for older ones. The swimming pool was used by all of us. Would definitely recommend for all ages. We are looking forward to visiting again

Summary: Great place for the family, our 5-yr old loved the stairs and having his own bathroom! Nicely equipped kitchen, and room for the grandparents to visit. We even cooked, which we don't usually do on vacation! Enjoyed the games rooms and pool too. Only thing missing was a wood burning stove! Loved it, will definitely recommend it

Summary: The property is a mile or so from the nearest village and further from the main road. The makes it very quiet and peaceful with little light pollution giving great starry nights.The complex has lots to do including an indoor pool, tennis court, mini golf and some indoor activities. The cottage was well equipped, clean and tidy. It was cooler on the lower ground floor which is great for hot summer evenings and nights. The closest coast in ten minutes away and there are lots of nice walks and eateries. The host provides a comprehensive guide to the site and the local area.
