Positive: Exceptionally clean cottage, a short walk into Bakewell
Negative: BE AWARE ONLY ONE PET IS PERMITTED. This wasn't made clear on the website information, so the cottage was inadvertantly booked, although between us, we had 3 dogs. Both Sykes Cottages and the owner were intransigent on this point, although this lack of information was clearly their error, and 2 dogs had to be accommodated elsewhere. Owner perfectly pleasant in communications otherwise. One small bathroom for up to 6 people is obviously inadequate. Note there is parking for only one car.

Positive: Wonderful, spacious cottage only 5 min walk from beautiful Bakewell centre. Mel is a fantastic and responsive host. The cottage was warm and cozy with all the mod cons, extremely well equipped kitchen (especially useful since we were there for Christmas and cooking a substantial meal). The wood burner in the living room adds an extra bonus, and really created an inviting atmosphere in the living area. The street is lovely and quiet with no traffic noise and with it being on a hill there's a stunning view over the hills just as you walk down to the town. Would highly recommend.

Positive: Location to town centre was very good. Property was very clean and well maintained.
Negative: A later checkout (9AM is a bit early). The mattresses were very hard.
Summary: Thoroughly enjojed the cottage and was a great base for enjoying Bakewell and the surrounding area.

Positive: Very enjoyable stay, and everything there, including kitchen foil. Real fire was added bonus along with starter logs. Will definitely return when staying in Bakewell and would recommend it.

Positive: Lovely cottage, great to have off road parking. Nice to have a little garden to sit in. We were lucky to have lovely weather. Highly recommend.
