4 Bedroom House in Waikawau, Little Bay

AVAILABILITY IN JAN 2025!! ....Just 5 minutes walk to stunning white sand beach, estuary for little ones, surf beach next bay, surrounded by bush with spectacular views from both decks and all rooms. The night sky is full of stars, surrounded by bush and private. The bay is great for swimming and 'teeny' bay just round some rocks is shallow, beach has an esturary which is great for little ones. We've even had a kiwi walking down our driveway at night you might hear them! Recently renovated with new kitchen (still bach style!), brand new beds/ bedding. Sleep x8 three queen and one double bedroom plus a fold out couch in large downstairs room. Vintage style. Four hours from Auckland with a beautiful drive along the Thames Coast with great seafood for sale along the way. Weber bbq, outdoor dining table, outdoor shower, 2x umbrellas top deck, bottom deck cool in summer. Nearest shop 20 min drive (camp store next bay in summer),wifi, bose speaker, no TV (please bring your own device). Downstairs bedrooms are connected by an exterior covered staircase only so you have to go on to covered lower deck then up the back covered staircase to get to upstairs. Fans and ceiling fan in living room. Bedrooms aren't large!! - in fact the deck is almost as big as the house. Bach check in fee is $160 (they do a clean / open / close for you and check on departure). In NZ tradition please leave bach clean when you leave and take your rubbish with you and please don't forget to clean the bbq! After vist you can arrange an exit clean in advance for $160 but please do your own dishes, and clean refrigerator. Please do not leave any bait / frozen items in freezer. Linen ($30 per bed) is available on request. BYO towels. Parking in driveway up to 4 cars. Please no loud music after 12pm. Pets welcome but please respect the restrictions on beach - there are rare dotterells - dogs must be under owners control at all times and not sleep on furniture. There is kiwi recovery / poisoning in the bay so don't let your dogs roam free in the bush.

Summary: Traditional old kiwi bach. Great views and cool retro decor. Easy walk to the beach. There was an issue with some of the power sockets but Pam had an electrician sorted for the next morning. We really enjoyed our stay, thanks!

Summary: This was a property with fine views, a few minutes walk from Little Bay beach. We enjoyed the beach which was very quiet on the weekdays especially and also visited the neighbouring Waikawau beach which was lovely. The bach had some nice features and decor in a retro style. The kitchen manly would benefit from being refurbished which we understand is planned. We visited with our children and there are few facilities nearby so come prepared.

Summary: We absolutely loved everything about staying at Pam's bach in littles Bay. Our dogs had wonderful stay too and felt quite at home. We all enjoyed the beach and had it all to ourselves while we had a swim and a sunbathe. You must check out Pam's book Salt which was in the downstairs bedroom. The kitchen was well stoked with all the utensils we needed to prepare large family meals and plenty of space. We hope to return to make more family memories in the future. Thanks very much for the use of your kiwi bach by the beach!
