Summary: Our whānau found this property a great place to stay. It was clean, large, and welcoming. The backyard was pretty, and we thoroughly enjoyed seeing the weka pair that visited us in the garden at times. Communication from the owner was clear and detailed. It was obvious they wanted the property to work for us, which we appreciated. We also loved its proximity to the fabulous Ōhope Beach (a very short drive away). Minor drawbacks were the fairly loud road noise (although not audible from the back garden), and the fact that there were a lot of the owners' things in places we needed to use, such as the fridge and pantry. But we worked round that. Overall however we were very happy. Whakatāne is an excellent town to visit.

Summary: The house is awesome, very spacious & clean with a great landscaped backyard backing onto the bush - a weka came out! Whakatane is the perfect town with bush growing right up to the town, a beautiful flat river walk for miles, heaps to do and we also went to Whale Island & got snapper & crayfish. Could not have asked for more. The hosts were lovely, especially as I was not very good trying to book, very helpful.
