The Vale of Evesham is the fruit and vegetable basket of England and has for many centuries supported a number of communities that have thrived on its fertile soil. Drained by the River Avon and with the town of Evesham as its centre, the Vale includes land in south Worcestershire, south Warwickshire and north Gloucestershire.
The Cotswolds are a range of hills in west-central England, sometimes called the 'Heart of England'. The name Cotswold means 'sheep enclosure in rolling hillsides'.The area is defined by the bedrock of Jurassic limestone that creates a type of grassland habitat rare in the UK and that is quarried for the golden coloured Cotswold stone. It contains unique features derived from the use of this mineral; the predominantly rural landscape contains beautiful stone-built villages, historical towns and stately homes and gardens.
In the Middle Ages the wool trade made the Cotswolds prosperous and some of this money was put into the building of churches, leaving the area with a number of large handsome Cotswold stone 'wool churches'. The area remains affluent, which has encouraged the establishment of many high quality pubs, restaurants and antique shops.
Cotswold towns include Bourton-on-the-Water, Broadway, Burford, Chipping Norton, Cirencester, Moreton-in-Marsh, Northleach, Stow-on-the-Wold, Stroud and Winchcombe. The town of Chipping Campden is notable for being the home of the Arts and Crafts movement, founded by William Morris at the end of the 19th and beginning of the 20th centuries. William Morris lived occasionally in Broadway Tower, a folly, now part of a country park. Chipping Campden is also known for the annual Cotswold Olympic Games, a celebration of sports and games dating back to the early 17th century.

Summary: Great location. Cute cottage. Bathroom situations are somewhat unusual… to use one, you would have to remove everything out or risk it getting everything (tp, sink, toilet) wet (shower and toilet in same space). The other bathroom has a weird shower door that if you don’t get it in the right spot, you flood the floor with water. Washing machine didn’t work. No paper products (kitchen towel, etc.) provided. No cleaning agent for washing dishes by hand or in the dishwasher. Washing machine didn’t work. But very clean. Walkable to Broadway for fit folks. Garden needs some attention but cute. Tight parking but better than no parking. Very good but not exceptional.

Summary: We really enjoyed our stay at this lovely cottage. Great proximity to the village and many other great villages and regional highlights. The cottage had plenty of room for our family of 5 and just the right amount of everything. Everything was very clean and organized. The back yard is great too as is the view of the pasture and sheep from the front. Would definitely stay there again!

Summary: We loved our stay here. The cottage was lovely, comfortable and quiet. We'd wake up in the morning to the sound of a horse slowly walking up the road. Kind of perfect for a stay in the Cotswolds. And we so enjoyed being able to walk past the pastures on our way into town. All in all- a perfect stay.

Summary: The listing was accurate, it was very easy to book, and communicate with owner. The beds were comfortable but somewhat soft and the kitchen was completely stocked. The town and the footpaths were so beautiful. The only complaint I have is about the pre cleaning. If I was the owner I would be disappointed in my cleaning company. I wish I could have stayed longer!!!

Summary: We had a great time at the property. Easy check-in and great communication with the host. The property was really lovely. Spotlessly clean. The three bedrooms were all very comfortable. The kitchen was fully equipped with all necessary amenities and more. We had our breakfast out in the back interrupted only by the bleating of the sheep. The location was awesome - easy to walk into town yet quiet in the evening. One of the best properties we've stayed in and we've stayed in a lot. 5 stars!

Summary: My family came all the way from Dallas to stay at this lovely cottage. Our trip revolved around the schedule of when this cottage was available. I am a big fan of Agatha Christie and it has been my dream to stay in a thatched-roof cottage and this one gave all of us the best experience. Everything was available for us and the owner thought of every convenient and necessary factor to make it easy and enjoyable for us. Thank you! We wish we could have stayed longer.

Summary: The cottage was beautiful and we had a wonderful stay. We were 6 adults - plenty of space to cook eat and relax. So many touches and useful items to make our stay special. We parked 3 cars and then walked into Broadway just a 5-10 minute walk. Great communication and would like to thank Elizabeth for being so accommodating.

Summary: Lovely place for a family Christmas. If we stayed in Broadway at other times of year we would probably eat out mostly, but if you want to do much cooking there, take your own roasting dishes etc. It didn’t matter to us, but for info, there is no microwave oven. Definitely take torches (we have them on our phones, but at this time of year you need them for children) for evening walks home from the village. Also take your own shower gel, shampoo etc as it’s a bit random what’s there. On balance, excellent rental property in a really beautiful village full of lovely shops, eateries & galleries. We will certainly consider returning.
