1 Bedroom Cottage in Heligan, Newton Abbot

Can accommodate up to 4 persons. Fully equipped open plan kitchen / living room/ dining area. Bathroom with shower over bath. Downd stairs to 2 bedrooms. Bedroom 1 has a double bed, bedroom 2 has two singles. Private lawn and access to orchard.
Bed linen and towels provided.
The Cottages have been converted from an L-shaped stone barn and a linhay. Every effort has been made to retain the character and atmosphere of the original building whilst providing every comfort and convenience.
3 of the cottages have a sitting room, dining area, 2 bedrooms and bathroom with bath and shower, Apple cottage has a shower in a wet room and only one bedroom. The kitchens are well equipped with washing machines and microwave ovens. Bed linen and towels are provided.
There is an organic cider apple orchard with a play area for children, also a wild meadow where wild birds and butterflies abound in the spring and summer. A 19 acre field with an ancient copse and stream allows space for exploring, walking dogs, or just relaxing and appreciating the views. Ducks swim in the old cart wash and chickens free range; pet goats, donkeys and pigs are either in the barns or the orchard.
The small town of Chudleigh is 1 mile away and has all necessary facilities. Exeter and Plymouth are a short drive, and we are ideally situated for visiting North and South Devon, and Cornwall. Dartmoor National Park is 2 miles away, and the beaches of Teignmouth, Dawlish and Torbay are all a short drive away. Off road car parking facilities are provided. Well behaved dogs welcome.

Summary: Very welcoming hosts, it was lovely to stay on the farm, we often had a walk down to the lake to feed the fish, overall a nice relaxing week on a working farm.

Summary: We booked a late week in September and was not disappointed by the accommodation or weather. The cottage is set in a beautiful area hidden away and quiet. It makes a great base being near enough for the coast, very near the National Forest bike/walking at Halton Park Forest. Great to see the animals especially the free cuddles from Brian the dog. Then within 30 minutes to Widecombe in the Moor on Dartmoor. Hosts are very welcoming.

Summary: The farm was welcoming and a nature habitat. The hosts were very welcoming and so was Brian ( the dog). The cottage had all we wanted. The base was great for coast and the moors, you do need transport to access these areas easily. If you like peace with nature for entertainment then this is your place. The Haldon Forest Park is within 10 minutes and there are fabulous walks and bike trials.

Summary: The cottage we stayed in is lovely, has everything you need. The farm is beautiful and a great place for children to explore. Julie is a wonderful host and always on hand to help with anything and very welcoming to children. We have been twice this year and if we had the time, we would come again!

Summary: Cider Cottage is the most delightful accommodation, and the orchard and farmyard surroundings with accompanying animal friends are perfection. Also the nearby village of Chudleigh is a delight.

Summary: It was a very relaxing holiday .The location of the farm meant it was easy to get out and about to Torquay ,Exeter etc. The cottages were very spacious and well equipped with all you need The farm is beautiful and in lovely countryside. The owners are ver friendly and helpful and i would definetly reccomend to family and friends and we would definetly be returning at some time in the near future.
