The thick walls of this cortijo keep it beautifully cool in the summer months.
Outside the cortijo there is a large covered secluded wooden terrace for exclusive use of guests staying in this cortijo, surrounded by grapes and fig trees with ample room for relaxing and eating. It has panoramic views to the Trevelez valley in the East and South to the coast. There is also a barbeque area directly outside the house as well as a hammock, both next to the terrace. It is only a short walk from the swimming pool. The large pool is filled from a natural spring water stream. Please note that the swimming pool is shared between this cottage and 2 other detached cottages but you will hardly ever find other people by the pool as often guests spend a day at the beach or visiting Granada or hiking locally.

What Our Guests say 500 + Reviews

Summary: Our stay at Cortijo Rey Fini was one of the most enjoyable experiences we have had in ten years of holidaying in the Alpujarras.. The location is superb, with expansive views along the valley towards Trevelez. Such a tranquil place, lots of space to wander around in, with a wonderful variety of trees. While there we breakfasted on freshly picked figs and nisperro every day. The natural spring water pool is deliciously cool and clean, overlooked by picturesque arbors with recliners and a hammock! We had the smallest cortijo “Pablito” which was very authentic and comfortable. Our hosts, Mo and Lucy, could not have done enough for us. While there, unfortunately, our car broke down, and Mo made four trips to Pitres to ensure that it would be repaired as soon as possible, then loaned us his car so that we could get provisions in, and then refused our offer of payment for the three extra days we had to stay while waiting for the car to be ready! Such generosity and friendliness we will never forget. We will definitely be back!

Summary: We felt that the property needs to be upgraded. Lighting, Wi-fi, kitchen and bedding all in need of renewal. Also, welcome instructions could have been clearer about need to stock up before arrival and the track to the property

Summary: Fabulous location. ' Pablito' cortijos is small and just about equipped enough for 2 people. It is the poor relation a bit though to the other 2 cortijos which are fabulous. It is a bit frustrating when trying to book this type of holiday just for 2 persons. Often properties are a bit pokey compared to larger properties sleeping 4 or more, which should not be the case just because there are are only 2 of you. Cortijos Rey Fini was great, because of its hosts and their generosity and the pool and the surrounding grounds and the location. Our hosts invited us continually to help ourselves to their organically grown fruit and veg. which included tomatoes, courgettes, aubergine, cucumber, lettuce, apples, pears, passion fruit etc... the list goes on. I think they should offer the option of guests to pay to have dinner or lunch with them, so they can present a real eclectic taste of their variety of interesting cuisine. I loved this place, just felt that ' Pablito' was a bit of an afterthought, lacking in the decorative pizzazz that it could have had after observing the other 2 cortijos. Would not hesitate to go back, but would not use 'Pablito' but for 2 people would not be able to justify paying for either of the other cortijos.

Summary: My family and I spent a glorious week at this magical property in the unspoilt region of the Alpujarras. Such a pity we could not stay longer. Mo and his wife Lucy were very welcoming and offered us freshly laid eggs from their chickens daily as well as amazing organic vegetables and fruit from their garden. Waking to a view of the mountains every day is refreshing and deeply relaxing. Its a great base from which to explore the many walks through the Seirra Nevada nature reserve with wild horses and wild boar. The cortijos are rustic but stylishly furnished. Its a great spot for a quiet mountain break away from it all.

Summary: We had a great stay at the Walnut Cortijo. Luci gave us a warm welcome and she really wanted to make us feel good. We invited her to sangria and had a wonderful evening on her terrace. Every morning there was breakfast outside (with fresh eggs from the chicken coop) on the terrace with a fantastic view. Relaxation offered the hammock on the terrace and by the pool. Lingering by the pool was great, even with nice shade next to the strawberries;) The buzzing of the animals, the cowbells on the other side of the mountain, the chirping of the birds is wonderful - here you really get down. Without TV, WLAN and with mediocre cell phone reception anyway, which we used wonderfully to play cards. With grill and stove we could wonderful self supply, you have to rinse yourself here -the grill and the back oven were dirty - but that was not a big problem for us. Trevelez is only 4km away, for jamon lovers a true mecca 😊. There was a small supermarket for the most necessary and delicious fresh bread and also in the place a small butcher for some grilled meat. About 20 minutes away there is a well-stocked supermarket with a fairly well-stocked fresh counter for cold cuts, cheese and meat. Who wants to have more choice here should go shopping in or clearly before Orgiva. It did not bother us. We were there with our 10 month old daughter. It worked quite well, but the wooden terrace was not necessarily suitable for crawling. Here we would rather run with children who can go again. The Cortijo was probably built by the Moors, which of course makes it even more exciting if you combine this holiday with a visit to Granada and the Alhambra, which you should definitely have seen. The pictures are a bit misleading, which Cortijo which is but you can ask in advance in the open and fast communication with mo and Lucy. The vita of mo and Lucy reads very interesting and sounds even more interesting in a personal conversation. We hope to meet mo next time. You can feel that the restoration of the land and the cortijos has gone a long way, which makes this place very special. Highly recommended for all those who are looking for something original and would like to escape from the modern and fast world. The last time we were not here - we will come back.

Summary: We had a truly wonderful week ,staying in Pablito. The location was ideally situated for walking and enjoying the magnificent scenery. The local villages were a delight. Pablito was comfortable and very well equipped and we appreciated all the information about the location that had been left in the cottage. The swimming pool was a real bonus despite being very cold! We very much look forward to a return visit next year.

Summary: We really enjoyed our one week stay at Cortijo Pablito. The Cortijo provides everything you need including a beautiful view from the terrace. The garden with its trees and the pool area are lovely. Lucy and Mo are great hosts. Never had better cherries than those from their garden.

Summary: This was perfect for us. Being up in the Sierra Nevada meant that the heat was not as oppressive as down in Granada City. The location is superb and full of real character with wonderful views. The buildings are not boring new build holiday homes but instead have been built from authentic local materials to reproduce the feel and heritage of originals on the site going back hundreds of years. The pool is a real swimming pool: Great for doing some exercise to assuage the guilt after all the food and drink. :0). Mo and Lucy are superb hosts and very generous in sharing produce from their extensive fruit and veg gardens. A superb place to really chill out.
