For some years now the Costa de la Luz has been courted by the travel scene as the place 'to go'. The natural beauty, unspoilt beaches, watersports and Andalucian charm are just a few reasons to come and visit. Casita Las Terrazas presides in the hills, over looking a truly remarkable view to Africa. Ten minutes to cosmopolitan Tarifa and the incredible beaches or ten minutes in the opposite direction to the fantastic daily market of Algeciras. The casita is set in the large grounds made up of 7 terraces, which once used to be a market garden. Weave between shaded corks, flower beds and a natural space rich in birdsong and fauna. Palms tower high, and the mature gardens provide a special ambiance to get that element we all need to relax on holiday.
Good weather turns inside living outside and you'll find the large outside terrace becomes the hub for BBQs, hammock life, and simply soaking up the sun whilst absorbed with the beauty of the mountain range across the Gibraltar Straits. The deep pool provides a wind free way to cool off and the mature gardens offer space and peace from the outside world.
Your comfort is well set up with a large double bed (zip bed converts to 2 singles), a basic but well equipped galley kitchen, shower/ compact bath, simple and comfortable furnishings.

Summary: Amy is the most helpful host we have ever met. She will help you carry your luggage up the steep hill to the cosy accommodation. The cottage is situated in lovely gardens surrounded by singing Nightingales with a fantastic view. We have a big car, BMW X5, and driving to the accommodation and parking was a little bit tricky. The poor weather stopped us sitting outside to enjoy our meals which meant we had to eat in the very small kitchen which wasn't ideal. Amy did everything she could to make our stay as pleasant as possible. She is a delightful lady.

Summary: What a lovely place. The Casita is small but has everything you need for a perfect holiday. It’s tucked in its own gardens, the view from the terrace across to Morocco is amazing. Amy and Alistair are close by if you need anything but you are completely private in and around the Casita. The flowers and trees make it so beautiful. We watched the swifts, bats and butterflies while chilling on the terrace. The pool is again in a secluded spot. I cannot recommend this place enough. Tarifa old town was a 10 minute easy drive. It’s very lively with lots of restaurants and boutique shops but no awful English pubs etc!! Definitely much more off the beaten track Spain. The beaches at Los Lances and Bolonia are amazing, can be a bit breezy hence all the kite surfers but a good way of staying cool. If you want to stay in a private spot but with the town within east reach, this is for you! Thank you to Amy and Alistair, perfect hosts!

Summary: Perfect position to watch birds of prey migrating, from the balcony and only 10 mins drive to an observatory, we stayed for 10 days (no tv just veiws) Amy and Al are fantastic hosts, can’t do enough for you, giving you loads of tips of what to do and where to go. We stayed in 5* apartment (all mod cons) and hotel, but this small cottage was our favourite, wish we could have stayed longer. Thank you Amy 😘

Summary: If you're looking to escape into a beautiful haven with stunning gardens, views and private pool then look no further. This place has a really special charm to it away from the commerciality of the town but nearby everything. Amy was the most fantastic host we've ever experienced. She was so thoughtful and extra touches throughout made us feel really welcome. Unfortunately we were not blessed with the weather on our stay but Amy did everything to make us comfortable including our own slippers and hot water bottle. The house is cosy and completely self sufficient as it's been cleverly furnished with everything you need in a practical way. We hope to visit again in the future when the weather better suits our visit so we can get even more out of the experience.

Summary: Amy is super ! She helps us during the whole stay. We get a new high chair for our baby. Private swimming pool perfect to chill and lot of privacy because is rounded of lots of plants and trees. If you like nature, it’s the place! Don’t know how many types of plants and flowers they have there! We met also Amy’s children’s, they were so nice to us too! Their house is in the same place but you have total privacy! Nice 160cm bed to rest and lots of silence at night. Car is mandatory I think to reach Tarifa which is only by 10 minutes driving, and 5 to Algeciras. Totally recommended!

Summary: The casita is small but has everything you can wish for (eg a large and very comfy bed). And anyway as the weather is ususally beautiful you spend most of the time on the terrace, in the little garden (with hammock) or at the pool so there is definately enough space. We stayed 7 nights and loved everything. Amy and her family are amazing hosts, we couldn't have wished for better ones. Hoping to return during the next years.
