4 Bedroom Villa in Cabrita, Algeciras

Sajama is a unique, substantial and older house with a lot of character . It has a large, beautiful walled-garden, with pool , tropical plants, sofa area with BBQs .The garden and pool can be illuminated at night .
There are three large roof terraces on different levels with breathtaking views over the bay to Gibraltar and the National Park.
The villa is cool ,comfortable,spacious and well equipped.
There are air-conditioning and heater units in all the bed rooms and two log burners which keep the house cosy in winter. We use fans for a hot night.
The house is a couple of hundred yards from the Beach of Getares on the Tarifa end of The Bay of Algeciras .
From our house the National Parks of the Straits of Gibraltar merges with Los Alcornocales to form a green and unspoilt area along this protected and beautiful coast line all the way to Cadiz.
There is alot to do locally and also further afield and four mountain bikes to borrow. However , when most people come , they tend to stay in a lot and relax in this private garden by the pool ,occasionally popping down to the beach or local shops and restaurants .

It is a family home NOT a luxury villa and NOT as the Spanish would say
“ impecable “!
It is weathered by the sea ,there will be petals in the pool ,leaves sand and wildlife everywhere in the garden which is integral to its charm.
We are renovating it slowly ,in the traditional style but it is not
“high spec”. In the lockdown our wonderful care taker ,Manolo put in a new septic tank ,biological filters ,new drains, electrical wiring , all over painting ,renovated windows ,shutters and new outdoor sofa covers .
We care about the environment,so although we try to keep rust stained towels and sheets for family use ,please accept that we won’t be throwing away perfectly comfortable usable things just for appearances.
NB please ,as it says in the House Rules do not waste electricity, gas and water. We check that you have not exceeded the average use of electricity.
The sea brings sand and salt in equal measures. Things like waxed table tops can feel sticky -that is the salt . And the wind blows sand ,leaves petals and seeds all over the place. We try to have the house and garden clean for your arrival but would have to wash everything every few days for it to be remain as clean as can be.

Summary: Property was lovely with excellent facilities as described. The access was easy upon arrival. We did have a issue with the oven tripping the electrics but all other facilities were great. The main issue for us was that the shops were a bit further away and we did not have a car. Taxis were difficult to get hold of, so the easiest option was the local shops at the other end of the beach, however the choice was a bit limited, with only access on a busy road or across the beach. In future we would definitely hire a car for easier access, this would also allow us to further explore the local area. The property has easy access to the beach with options for paddleboarding and kayaking. The on site pool was fantastic and a great size for the little ones we had with us, it was also securely gated to prevent unwanted access by the kids. Overall we really enjoyed our stay and would definitely visit again.

Summary: We had a great holiday in this interesting house. It has far more character than most of the rental homes we stayed in. We loved the gardens and roof terraces and spent many hours relaxing near the pool. The location is excellent being just a few metres from a good sandy beach.

Summary: This large house and garden has so many levels, interesting corners and balconies that I am not sure whether, in a week, we did it all justice. The views over the Bay of Gibraltar and across to Morocco are superb. The lovely beach is a perfect distance away and it is on the edge of El Estrecho Natural Park. The area is Spanish as opposed to filled with other visitors and visits to Cadiz, Gibraltar and Tangier are all easily doable and excellent for sightseeing and shopping.

Summary: If you’re looking for a sleek all mod cons villa this might not be the place for you. If you’re looking a magical place with beautiful gardens with a lovely beach two minutes walk from your door in a proper Spanish resort then you’ve found it here. Our party have had a fabulous week here and we will definitely be back.

Summary: We love old houses full of charm and personality and that is why we booked Casa Sajama. We were a group of friends using the place as a base for day trips in the area with some lazy days at the house as well. The house is a LOT bigger than it looks in the ad and can easily fit a lot of guests with places to hide away. It's very quiet and you can hear the sea nearby. The pool is lovely and there are lots of shady areas as well. The garden is beautiful. There was some confusion with check-in but in the end everything was resolved. Manolo the on-site caretaker is great and really easy to communicate with if you speak Spanish. While I did know what to expect in terms of a historic house and things not being pristine I think the owner should update at minimum the sofas in the living room and near the pool to be more comfortable. Ultimately the house is really special but with a little further effort it could be improved from something "worn out" to something "faded yet cozy"!
