This IS the place for you! Enjoy a nice quiet vacation in this rustic 2- or 4-bedroom Cedar House located on 129 acres of high fenced Central Texas ranch land. Connect with nature to experience the peace and quiet you've been waiting for. Choose from some of our favorite activities: Taking nice long walk through the woods with over 11/2 miles of trails, fish our stocked 4-acre lake and three ponds (catch and release so next time they are even bigger!), play Cornhole or just sit back and relax while watching the wildlife eat at the feeder behind the cabins! Privacy?
Your closest neighbor is 1/2 a mile away! It's like camping, but with the added touch of air conditioning and the simple comfort of being in a home. Welcome to the country! You never know what you might see on this Texas Wildlife Management property! Enjoy your stay!
Please note that you have the option to choose from the Main house (2 bedrooms and 1 full bathroom) for $190.00 a night or add the Annex house (for a total of 4 bedrooms and 2 full bathrooms) for an additional $75.00 a night (Total of $265.00/night).
During those hot summer days, relax in our Cowboy Cool Tub down by the pond. which is filled with fresh, clear, cool water! Please remember, children under the age of 18 years of age should always be accompanied by an adult when down by lake, ponds or Cowboy Cool Tub at all times!
The Main House consist of a den, fully stocked kitchen, full Bath, and a screened in porch.
Main bedroom has King size bed, second room has full size bed and a twin size bed.
2nd Cabin has 2 bedrooms and a full bath, 1 bedroom has queen size bed, 2nd room has queen size bed and 2 twin beds
Each room has its own air conditioning unit.
No firearms /no bows/ no Hunting /no ATV/Motorcycles

Summary: Our family had a wonderful stay at the Walsh Ranch! There were six of us from three Texas cities, so we met up in the middle. Everything was as described. The fishing pond with the dock was perfect and the fish were biting. Our city dog had a blast in the country and swam in the pond. The screened in porch was nice for eating and playing games. It was warm for November, unfortunately there was a burn ban so we didn't get to enjoy the fire pit, but it's a great set up. We definitely plan to come back!

Summary: I very much enjoyed my stay! There was no WiFi which initially scared me but it was so nice to finally disconnect and have some mental peace. The property is well kept and had everything we needed including seasoning for our food. I highly recommend this place for a much needed recharge. My teenagers enjoyed it as well. We definitely plan to visits again!

Summary: This was simply one of the cooler places we’ve stayed. We love the country and it was a wonderful respite from the work we were doing each day in Bastrop! We may look to stay there again, even if we are not “working” nearby. Thomas and Dennis were simply a joy yo work with. They were generous, communicative and I would highly recommend renting from them!!

Summary: This is our second visit and things were just as good this time as last. We cant wait to come back again, hopefully for more than a weekend next time. This is a great getaway spot... Kids loved the fishing! Nights by the fire were perfect too. We'll be back for sure.

Summary: This is our favorite thing to do. We bring our dogs and family out to the Walsh Ranch and just relax. The colors of nature were beautiful, the lodging was relaxing and lots of fun bird watching and a few nocturnal visits to the corn feeder made for sweet viewing with the binoculars. So many cardinals. This ranch is the perfect gathering spot for families and good friends with two cabins and a screened in porch and lots of hiking around the land. Bring plenty of groceries and chill out. We will be back soon. This place is perfection.

Summary: Super quiet, we rented both cabins, for a group of six males we had lots of room to walk the grounds, cook and relax ... We plan on returning in the near future. WE would recommend the location for a peaceful retreat, family get away and or cycling on the super quiet back roads near by ... Smithville near by has nice restaurants and grocery stores ... Hightly recommend !!!!

Summary: This property is a gem. It is so peaceful, quiet, covered in old growth trees, has truly great fishing, wonderful rocking chairs to spend hours just sitting on the porch watching the birds in the meadow, the list goes on and on. Both our teenager and our elementary age kids had a wonderful time. There is so much to explore and see. It’s truly a special place to unwind. We cannot wait to get back!
