To take full advantage of the wonderful Bay views the bedrooms are on the ground floor. The reception room is on the first floor. The full size pool table is in the gallery room also with beautiful Bay views.The interiors are tastefully decorated and very comfortable. Ground floor, bedroom 1- with en-suite shower room, wash basin WC. Bedroom 2, adult bunk with single bed. Bedroom 3, double bed. Bathroom with separate shower, bath, wash basin WC. All bedlinen & towels supplied. First floor lounge, Bay views, open fire, TV, DVD player, music centre. Kitchen/diner- freezer, microwave, w/machine, table seats 6 and balcony leading out to fully enclosed garden. Second floor, gallery/loft with Double bed and full size pool table. Off road parking, patio furniture. A non smoking house. Sorry no pets.

Summary: We had a lovely week in Gortahork. The house has a beautiful view and is within half an hours drive to exciting places like Horn Head, Glenveigh, Marble Hill, Ards Forest and very close to surfing beaches. Sadly there is no access to the water in front of the house, and you need a car to get a boat into the water at Kitty's Kayaks. The road is a bit dangerous for walking, as there is no verge or footpath to walk on. But once on the water we had the most beautiful paddle on the bay, brilliant for bird watching, exploring islands and there were ponies to see and a mink. The house is nice and spacious, but in wet weather you need the heating on if you want your clothes to dry. The kitchen is well equipped, but we found the TV a bit difficult to work with two remote controls. We couldn't find batteries for the clocks or spare light bulbs. Maybe a few more instructions would be handy. The pool table was great fun for all! Would recommend this house for a family.

Summary: Overall, a really nice base. Enjoyed the open fire! A few basic things were missing ... a cafetiere, a nice set of wine glasses, oven gloves, nice little jugs for milk etc. Also, no hooks for coats etc anywhere in the house. The instructions about rubbish are unclear and contradictory. Much greater clarity is needed on recycling and what to do with unrecyclable rubbish. A collection of books would be nice.

Summary: Unable to get TV, games and oven to work. Instruction booklet confusing particularly with regard to refuse disposal and needs updating. Small sitting room table had holes in top. Kitchen was flooded after heavy overnight rain. An extra door key would help particularly when a number of families are sharing. Overall however we enjoyed our stay in a good location and it met all our needs.

Summary: Stayed a two night weekend with family, house was in a great location and well laid out. Shop, beach, chapel, hotel and pub all in walking distance . Very friendly locals and lovely sites to see close by. The pool table went down a treat with the boys. !! Great food in the hotel next door.
