Positive: The Cowshed is absolutely stunning and very cozy with a fireplace and all the amenities you need (even heated floors in the bathroom). The place was clean and warm. The host, Wendy, was very welcoming and gave us many recommendations on walks and pubs in the area. We didn't have a car, but the property is very well located just 20 minute walk from the village for groceries and restaurants, and many beautiful Dartmoor paths (Hunter's and Fisherman's path, Castle Drogo, North Bovey, Easdon Tor) are close by. Wendy was also extremely helpful in helping us find a taxi when none were available on a bank holiday.

Positive: We spent three unforgettable days in Dartmoor at the end of September. The Cowshed served as the ideal base for exploring the area by car and doing hikes. This two-story apartment offers ample space, and everything is maintained to the highest standard. The indoor fireplace was a real highlight — coming back from a hike and cozying up with a cup of tea by the fire was just perfect. Wendy is a fantastic host and even had the fire lit for us upon arrival, making us feel instantly welcomed. We couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay and would absolutely recommend The Cowshed to anyone looking for a peaceful, well-equipped retreat in Dartmoor.

Positive: The location was perfect with a short drive to the depths of Dartmoor with fantastic scenery. Also, the town of Moretonhamptead which is very close to the accommodation has some great places to eat - especially Bertos!
