2 Bedroom Apartment in Ghent

Come stay in our relaxing and quiet barn apartment, new construction with beautiful views overlooking our small farm. The apartment boasts a cozy soap stone wood stove and a cooks kitchen. Located at the heart of our farm, easy parking and access. Large first floor mudroom for any equipment you might need during your stay (skis, strollers, snow shoes) 200 sq/ft of storage space. The apartment is located on the second floor, utilizing the entire 900 square feet. Beautiful sunsets and Catskill views (seasonal). We have some trails and a stream on the farm but we are also conveniently located in the Taconics and also within 20 minutes from the Berkshires and 25 minutes of the Catskills for fun day trips.
We have a small farm store where you can access our organically raised meat and eggs. We offer in season vegetables from our kitchen garden as well.

Summary: A beautiful well appointed apartment in a purpose made detached building with its own entrance about two plus hours upstate drive from New York, and two minutes from the Taconic Parkway, down a short driveway with off road parking, in a wooded location. If you are looking for countryside seclusion, woken by birdsong, in a peaceful, harmonious, stress-free and genuinely fine surroundings, this home with pond (the sound of ducks, hens, a couple of goats) and a warm and friendly atmosphere, is the ideal situation for a refreshing break with daily deer sightings. Sleeping up to 4 in two double rooms and a spacious kitchen/dining/sitting room heated by a wood stove, and with up to date modern fittings, this comfortable second floor apartment is a perfect location for a countryside break. We stayed for ten days, and would happily return. If arriving late bring your own provisions, although the nearby organic farm store in Hawthorne Valley can provide all you need for healthy living, and fresh laid eggs are available daily. I really recommend Retrograss Farm. .
