In the heart of the biggest Medina of Maghreb, you will find our 500 years old house,.. old but completely renovated in 2017 with a special care dedicated to respect of the moroccan art but also with a hinch of european design and trendy comfort... Its main charm rests in a passage way on the upper level which leads to 3 of the 4 rooms; this balcony is very lovely with the flying veils ...
The house is for your private use; it can sleep from 2 to 8 persons, with 4 rooms and 3 bathrooms.
On the lower level, you will find a patio with a design dining room.
Next to it, 2 sitting rooms, one opened for talking and chatting, the other one, closed with a fireplace and a satellite TV.
Apart, a brand new kitchen, fully equipped.
Inbetween the patio and the upper level, you will find a big room decorated in the moroccan style; Double bed and bathroom in zellige. Delicate rays of lights and wrought iron make the charm of it...
On the upper level, 3 rooms are located along the romantic balcony: the master bedroom with a king size bed and a grey tadelakt bathroom with a modern design. The 2 other rooms, one with a queen size bed and one with 2 twin beds share a beige tadelakt bathroom.
On the terrace level, you will find a room dedicated to leisure and farniente; we tore down the wall and set a huge window with a view on the medina... We also set a fireplace for confort... A summer kitchen has been added next to it.
The terrace in itself is a must.. As the house is much taller than the surrounding ones, the view on the Medina and the Merenide Graves, is stunning. Due to the height, you are protected from being seen by the neighbours.. Privacy, a luxury in the medina.
The dar is located in a quiet dead end little street , 15 min from Bab Boujloud and 5 minutes from the RCIF place.
Moroccan breakfast and linens are included in the price.
A cook is available if you wish for lunch and dinner for a modest supplement; she can even teach you moroccan cooking.
Transfert to and from airport can be organized; a concierge will welcome you and guide in your first steps in the house and the medina.
Aircon in the rooms, wifi and satellite TV.
Besides the tour of the Medina and numerous wanderings in the souks, you could also have a walk to the jewish cemetery and the adjacent neighbourhood, the Mellah. You could also wander in the new town of Fes.

Summary: We stayed at Dar Babel for few days in September 2015. It was our first time in Fes and what a great experience it was!! We visited several Moroccan cities in the past and really didn’t know what to expect of Fes. Thanks to the hospitality of Nathalie and Didier, the hosts of Dar Babel, we discovered real gem of a city in Morocco. Not only is the riad a great place to stay, the hosts also gave us excellent advice on what to do and where to go (or not to go). Dar Babel it’s clearly the best riad experience we had thus far in Morocco. The place must’ve been renovated recently; it’s spotlessly clean, very well decorated in Moroccan style but with personal touches. The whole place is very local, very romantic yet practical. We loved the thick white towels in the bathroom and halogen lights near the mirrors and beds – a practical touch that’s rare in Moroccan style hotels and riads. The open rooftop makes the riad bright and airy during the day and romantic and airy during the evenings. And as if that was not enough, you can enjoy your time on the roof’s terrace and patio: imagine eating your dinner under the stars regardless if your table is inside or outside!!! That’s exactly what we did almost every night enjoying the fabulous cooking of Kharissa and Abdelzargh. 5 stars experience which I definitely recommend to anyone.

Summary: Great place to stay!! Very beautiful, clean and well maintained. Nathalie did a great job in remodeling the 400 year old riad. We had such a great time here we didn't want to go back. I do recommend hiring a guide to take you around the medina. If we didn't have our fabulous guide we would never have found our way back. There are over 9,000+ streets in the Medina which makes it very easy to get lost if you don't know the area. Thank you Nathalie for a very memorable and enjoyable stay. Cheers, germaine

Summary: I and my friends rented the whole riad for 4 days. The riad is wonderful in the hart of medina, studied in detail. Abderrazak and Fatima are very kind and they help you everything you need! We had a Dinner in riad and was one of the best dinners we had in Fez. I advice to have breakfast on terrace, it is very amazing. Nathalie can give you good advice for tours, dinners, hammam. I recommend this riad if you want a unique experience with the charm of riads and all the amenities You need!!

Summary: It was our first time in Fes and we just loved it ! It's like being back in the old old days; no cars and motorbikes in the Medina; only donkeys; it is so 'out of time', you just forget home and worries .. The house is just great, a nest in the turmoil of the medina; we loved the details in the decoration and the comfort of it all.. The terrace is great as there is a great view although with precious privacy... Next time, we will bring friends ! special thanks to the cook Fatima, we loved your typical and savoury meals ...
