Forest lake is a 51 acre lake perfect for kayaking, fishing (summer and winter), swimming and relaxing. No gas engines are allowed on the lake. The surrounding Kettle Moraine offers biking, hiking, snowmobile trails and cross-country ski trails. Wisconsin's famous Ice Age Trail is steps away from the cabin.
The 950sq ft cabin has queen beds in both bedrooms and a twin bed in the living room. The open concept kitchen provides all essentials. There is also a gas grill outside.
Things to know: Cabin is located near the end of a semi-private road. Once parked in the driveway, you'll have a walk down a series of stairs to bring you to the front door. This allows the cabin to sit right on the water's edge! However, if stairs are difficult, The Kettle's Edge will not be a good fit.

Summary: This was a perfect getaway for our family. The lake house was spacious, clean and comfortable, directly at the edge of Forest Lake. Our kids loved being on the water and we only left for the occasional grocery shopping as we all just wanted to hang out at the house and on the lake. The peddle boat was a great hit with the kids while the adults enjoyed kayaking. The sand bar in the middle of the lake was great for shallow water play and we were so happy Sarah left fishing gear for us (and even brought worms as bait) since we are not a fishing family but ended up loving it when we tried. Also the bird and humming bird feeder were a great way to spot wildlife from the kitchen window. There is plenty of family entertainment at the house and I felt like going back in time watching DVDs with the whole family after having a BBQ on the deck. It was a perfect week. Sarah is an very kind and responsive host, when there was an issue with the water heater she immediately came over to mitigate the situation. I would recommend anyone who is looking for a nice relaxing family time to stay at this place for a few nights. Even our dog had the best time lounging around the pier and getting long walks on the ice age trail. Thanks for all your great care Sarah!

Summary: Nice and quiet. Arrived in the dark and was glad to have a flashlight going down the steps. Didn’t see the light switch for the trail until the 3rd trip up to the car.

Summary: The owners are very responsive and accommodating! My son spent the entire weekend exploring the lake in the paddleboat. We all had a fantastic time!

Summary: We spent a week at this wonderful lake house property kayaking, paddle boarding and swimming. It was very peaceful and relaxing for the whole family. We enjoyed walking our dogs while exploring some of the hiking trails in the area. We all had a great family vacation. Thanks!

Summary: We had a wonderful time at this lake house! The view from the window on to the lake is awesome! We had such a great time on the boats going around the lake! The owner of this property is incredibly responsive and welcomed all our questions before hand! We wanted a few days away from the hustle and bustle on a lake…and that is what we got! We would definitely go back here for sure to walk the trail as well! Thanks for the memories!

Summary: Before we even arrived, we knew this trip was going to be fantastic. The property owner was very proactive in reaching out to us ahead of time to make sure we had everything we needed, to answer our questions, and to let us know of any important information for our stay. When we arrived, the cabin was very clean. It has a wondeful layout, and the view from the living room window can't be beat. It was a very relaxing weekend, and our family couldn't have enjoyed it more.

Summary: A pleasant experience from start to finish! The owners are quick to respond to any questions. The scenery around the property is amazing. Hills and trees everywhere. The house is cozy and clean with a gorgeous view of the lake. We ended up needing to extend our check out at the last minute, and the owners were understanding and graciously accommodated. I look forward to visiting again when we can enjoy more that the area has to offer!
