Summary: We stayed at the adjacent property ( the Pepper) while my mother and my son took up accommodation in the Salt cottage. We will be forever grateful to have been able to rent bith properties to have a group family vacation that will be remembered for years to come. The view from the back deck will have you relaxed and wanting to return again and again to relish the sunrise with a cup of coffee and fresh local bread and jam. Ches was wonderful to deal with from the queries about the booking process right through the day we left. Take advantage of this gem of a spot if you ever get a chance!

Summary: One could not ask for more from a rental property. A lovely cottage with a superb location. Less than a minute walk to swimming in a fresh water lake. Two minute walk to a scenic beach on the ocean. Historic property next door dating back to settlers who came there in the 19th century. Convenience store less than 500 metres down the road. I have rented VRBO properties for twenty years or more now, and this was certainly one of the best.

Summary: Overall great property to stay at. Close enough to Dildo and the brewery but still out enough to have a quiet evening overlooking the pond. The only thing that went wrong was there wasn’t any body-wash/shampoo/conditioner. There’s a little shop right around the corner but it was closed by the time we got back from supper and the brewery. I’d definitely stay again though.

Summary: Beautiful property. Great house. Everything you need for a great adventure. Kids loved swimming in the pond and the walk to the ocean. Looking forward to next trip. The bread and jam at arrival were wonderful.

Summary: Very beautiful property and well equipped for a comfortable stay. Lovely view of the water from the back deck and very convenient with two dogs since the back yard was entirely fenced off. Highly recommended! I may suggest offering tea bags and kettle on site would have been appreciated.

Summary: We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Ches’s property in Whiteway. We were looking for a place that was comfortable enough for us to just hang out with each other for the weekend and Salt checks all the boxes. The tranquility of just sitting on the back porch with the fire lit is unmatched. The house is thoughtfully decorated, and has everything you would need for a weekend stay. Drover’s is a quick walk down the road, and has anything you could possibly think of. Ches is a great host and is quick to respond the any questions or concerns. You will not be disappointed with a stay at Salt!

Summary: We stayed one week and really enjoyed our stay. The location was perfect to visit between St-John and Bonavista. We had access to a small public swimming area for the pond right next to the house and the view of the ocean at no more than a 2-3 minute walk. We enjoyed a morning jog around the pond. The view from the house was perfect, the house was fully equipped with all that we needed and very clean, everything seemed new. We found a seafood and meat store within a 10 minute drive and went cod fishing as well. The location was very quiet. Loved our stay.

Summary: When something is perfect, there is not very much to say ! The host was very friendly. Always taking care or asking if something is missing. The house was marvellous - you open the door and you feel like at home. The house has a stunning view with all conveniences necessary. Last but not least the neighbours were wonderful, too. As we are from Germany, they taught us a lot about Canada and Newfoundland in particular. In a word, we already decided to come back !!!

Summary: From the moment we arrived we felt like it was our home away from home. The decor was bright, spacious, stunning and everything was new, modern and spotless. The owners arranged to have locally owned bread and jam left for us. YomYom. We enjoyed all the amenities..... the covered veranda and fireplace alongside the pond was well used by us this weekend. We watched moose walk across the edge of the pond and later swim the whole width of the pond. We enjoyed the walking trail around the pond, ending up at Drover's Store, which was an experience in itself. If you forget to bring something....they will surely have it.! The beach access for the kayaks was very convenient. We even tried our hand at fly fishing off the edge of the property as well. The kitchen was well stocked with utensils and pots/pans and we also made use of the BBQ a few times. We enjoyed roaming the beaches for beach glass and heart shaped rocks. We were so busy during the day we couldn't seem to get past 10pm each evening. The beds were super comfy and sleep came very quickly! Can't wait to do it all again!
