3 Bedroom Cottage in Battle Creek

Nestled 20 minutes outside the city of Battle Creek, MI, our cozy cabin offers a peaceful retreat with enough room to comfortably sleep 6 (can sleep up to 8 guests), a gas fireplace, and a tiered deck leading directly down to the water. This pet-friendly space is perfect for a family gathering or sleepy getaway for two. Whatever the reason for your stay, our Fine Lake cabin makes you feel right at home.
Our cabin has 3 bedrooms (2 upstairs, 1 downstairs) with 4 beds, a pull-out couch in the foyer, 1 full bath with a shower/tub combo, and a comfortable living room overlooking the lake. The recently renovated kitchen has all the necessary appliances to keep you comfortable during your stay. Guests will have access to the entire property, but we please ask that you do not enter the garage without prior authorization from the host. There is enough parking space for 4 cars in front of the property.
You can expect central heating and air, WiFi, and a 58” smart TV with streaming capabilities. Enjoy your morning coffee as you gaze through the large southeast facing window and admire the unbeatable sunrise over the lake. We have a two-night minimum and well-behaved pets are always welcome. Please note that this is a non-smoking home.

The Banfield General Store and Fine Lake Party Store are each within 5min of the cabin and can replenish essentials (the general store has great cookies!). The town of Battle Creek is only 20 minutes away and Kalamazoo is under half an hour away. Battle Creek has several nice restaurants and breweries, as well as attractions like Binder Park Zoo, the Leila Arboretum, and several museums. The Gilmore Car Museum is 10min west of the property, and the Mooville Creamery is ~25 minutes down the road, where you can enjoy ice cream and outdoor fun with the family. Additionally, each year the city of Battle Creek hosts an air show and hot air balloon festival that draws hundreds of visitors to enjoy the mesmerizing event.
The Lake:
Fine Lake is great for fishing, with plenty of bluegill, bass, perch, and walleye. We are an all-sports lake with a public boat launch located less than a mile from the cabin. You can fish from a boat or you can fish right off the dock! Minimal effort needed to catch fish in this lake.
In the winter, you will see ice-fishermen on the 330 acre frozen lake. Snowmobile trails and cross-country skiing are available at the Fort Custer recreation area 20 minutes south of the cabin. There is always something to do, no matter the time of year!
During the summer, guests have access to a row boat, kayaks, and several inflatables for floating on the lake. The lake is perfect for swimming, with a smooth sandy bottom and private dock. Bring your jet ski or boat and enjoy the Michigan lake life! We also have an outdoor fire pit, cornhole boards, and several patio chairs for you to use during your stay.

Summary: We used this property for a Christmas get away for our family. The home was very roomy and comfortable. We enjoyed the bueatiful stone fireplace and also the amazing view of the lake!. The home had many wood features that are so stunning.

Summary: Info was not totally accurate. it will only sleep 4 or 5 comfortably and not adults. probably only 2 adults. Wifi info was wrong Door code was wrong the lake is gorgeous, deck is nice to sit out on views are great food remnants were in the sink trap tub would not drain, it filled with 4 -5 inches of dirty water as you showered so nice place, not great upkeep

Summary: We found the lake house as expected. This was a quiet and peaceful environment. The view of the lake from both the deck and living room is wonderful. If you want a place to get away and have some quiet time this is it. Either plan to do your own cooking or have a bit of a drive each evening for dinner. It was only my second time in a kayak but the calm lake allowed me a great sense of security. The residential area also gave me a chance to get out for a walk each morning. The host quickly responded when we had trouble with the entry code.

Summary: My family and I had to travel to Michigan for family business. We looked for a place that would provide us with a nice distraction while we were not attending to our family business. That is why we chose this place. The views from inside the cabin of the lake are fabulous. Enjoying a cup of coffee on the dock and eating dinner with family outside while viewing the lake was just plain wonderful. The cabin itself is a bit dated and not the cleanest place I’ve stayed in. We could not find additional sheets for the futon bed. Plus the futon is located in a basement that feels a bit damp. There was food left in the kitchen sink drain, which smelt quite bad. The sink itself looked to not have been cleaned prior to our visit. While we were there a curtain rod just fell right out of the wall. The yard was not maintained. There was a watering hose uncoiled and laying around providing a trip hazard. The boat house was a TERRIBLE mess. To use anything we first had to take everything out and find what went with what. We cleaned up and sort of organized the boat house just because it made us feel better for whoever would be staying next. So overall if you want a beautiful lake view and cleanest is not high on your priority I’d stay here. The views really were spectacular.

Summary: We booked this property to visit family for Thanksgiving & have an early Christmas with our 2 young Grandsons who live nearby. The place was amazing and the views of the lake were spectacular! We thoroughly enjoyed the fireplace and the Grandkids all enjoyed the place (the tv’s, movies & Atari made a hit)? Brent, the Host, communicates friendly & easily, and made the check in, check out, and our whole stay enjoyable. We felt like we went back home with a new friend!! We will be back to The Cozy Cabin!!

Summary: House was very clean and spacious. Kitchen is really small. The access to the kayaks was great...they were really fun. Location is kind of out in the middle of nowhere. Major stores and restaurants are about 20 to 30 minutes away. Lake is beautiful. The view is great. Brent was not very good with communication before our stay, but always responded in 5 to 10 minutes when we were there. He is great with recommendations for various things. Overall, it was great.
