Positive: The apartment is located in a quiet, charming, somewhat older neighborhood. It’s about a 15-minute walk to the nearest metro station, and also about a 15-minute walk to a grocery store, Whole Foods, which has a wide range of products. The apartment is accessible via a set of stairs going down and is partially below street level. There is a sitting area with a bar that has four bar stools, a small sofa, and an adjoining open kitchen. The kitchen is equipped with all necessary household appliances. On either side of the sitting area are two small bedrooms, each with a double bed. The beds are not king-size but are very comfortable. The bathroom is also good, equipped with a bath/shower combination, sink, and toilet. We didn’t see the owner. We only had contact by mail (access is provided with a code sent by the owner in advance).
Summary: In summary, it was an excellent and affordable base for iur visit to Washington.

Positive: The apartment is spacious and the rooms are fairly clean. Anything you could need is provided, including also some bug-repellant spray which is very needed because there are many mosquitoes outside the apartment.
Negative: The location on the map is completely misleading. The apartment is located in the Bloomingdale neighbourhood while the map shows it downtown. Booked for the convenient location but got a 40 minute bus ride in return. Also the apartment is below ground so it's very dark all day. Ants and mosquitoes are a problem. Loud air conditioning in the rooms. Not much space for hanging clothes.
