2 Bedroom Cabin in Young Harris

Rocky Knob Cabin is a log cabin overlooking beautiful Brasstown Valley in Young Harris, Georgia. Located on the mountain above Brasstown Valley Resort, Rocky Knob Cabin offers a lovely mountain-top view of the Blue Ridge Mountains in fall and winter with beautiful sunsets, and in the fall and winter, 180 degree panoramic views. It is cozy with all amenities for a relaxing stay. All roads leading to the cabin, including the driveway, are fully paved and in good condition. NOTE: the driveway is a little narrower than some and would not be able to accommodate a dually pickup truck or an extremely large vehicle. We have a Ford F250 that we take at times, and once you get used to navigating, it's not a problem. It is a little steep as many driveways are in the mountains. NOTE: We provide the lock box key code 3 days before your arrival as we change the code between guests. ALSO, we strongly advise that guests have a hard copy of our map or have it available on their phone during the first time up the mountain as the road signs and turns can be a little confusing.
The cabin easily accommodates four people in it's two bedrooms, two baths, living and dining area and it's fully equipped kitchen. The master bedroom has a queen size bed, and the guest bedroom has two twin beds. Both bedrooms have on suite baths. There is a new flat screen TV in the living area and Netflix available to our guests.
There is a gas grill on the wrap around deck along with a bar height dining table/chairs with umbrella. Coffee is provided for our guests, and the kitchen is fully equipped and stocked with everything you need to make a wonderful meal at home. The cabin is equipped with Wi-Fi, and the Wi-FI password and other important phone numbers are in the blue binder by the microwave. Washer and dryer are available for guests' use during their stay and detergent/bleach is provided.
Beautiful Lake Chatuge and The Georgia Mountain Fairground are about 3 miles from the cabin. It is conveniently and centrally located for day trips to Blue Ridge, Franklin, Murphy, Bryson City, Blairsville, Hayesville, Helen, Brasstown Bald, Dahlonega and close to many hiking locations, wineries, boating and shopping.

Summary: We've stayed here for several years, each year on our anniversary, and have been blessed with a wonderful vacation and experience every time. Of the total 37 trips over the years of our marriage to North Georgia, staying here at this cabin has been the most special ones. The warmth of the surroundings in the cabin is like staying in the perfect holiday version of your own home. It's cozy and inviting and leaves us with a feeling the rest of the year of wanting to return. We're looking forward to our next stay!

Summary: My wife and I skipped our annual vacation last year due to labor shortage at work. After making some adjustment to the business, we were able to go on a vacation this year. This cabin is secluded enough to enjoy some peacefulness and yet only minutes away from town. We had a bit of a problem locating the cabin upon arrival. Do not rely on your GPS. Please follow the map that you were provided with prior to checking in. The cabin is down a steep driveway, so we were unable to have a visual queue when the GPS stated that we had "arrived". Pay attention to the house number which was attached to the wooden trash can cage and also erected from the ground. Drive slowly and really pay attention to the map, not your GPS. Also, try to arrive when there is sill daylight. This cabin is well-furnished. You will have everything needed. We didn't spend much time indoor. We explored Young Harris, Hiawassee and Blairsville. All of them are just minutes away from the cabin. We also went to a few wineries, numerous different restaurants and popular attractions. There are two establishments we highly recommend, The Oaks Lakeside Kitchen and Hiawassee Brew. Both are located in Hiawassee. David was very kind to have given us a call during our stay. He wanted to make sure we were enjoying ourselves and happy with the cabin. We certainly enjoyed our much needed rest and planning on coming back again next year.

Summary: This property exceeded every expectation we had! We've stayed at some very nice properties over the years, but this one is certainly at the top! If it lacks something in one area it makes it up in another. I'm putting this one on my return visit list!

Summary: There was no Mountain View as advertised; the porches needed cleaning; housekeeping could use supervision (Oven dirty, curtains dusty, picture frames dusty, bathroom mats needed washing). There appeared to be mold from a water leak under the sink in the second bathroom.
