Sand Road Apartment is on a dirt road that passes thru Tioga State Forest. This is a wild area of Pennsylvania. The apartment is constructed and on the second floor of a garage seperat from the owners residence. A carpeted stairway leads to the kitchen, living room, bedroom, and bathroom (shower) . Couples or singles are welcomed at the Sand Road apartment. A nice location to begin many activities from. Hike the trails across the road. Consult the Tioga State Forest map or a local trail guidebook and you will find a variety of beautiful hikes. Head down the mountain to the Rails To Trails bike trail for some flat bicycle riding thru some of the nicest scenery anywhere including The Grand Canyon Of Pennsylvania. Pine Creek nearby offers good trout fishing in the spring or canoeing, kayaking or white water rafting with the outfitters. Lakes nearby offer good fishing in all seasons. You will not be far from the town of Wellsboro. Whether its dining , entertainment (surprisingly good at The Deane Center ), shopping or just sitting on the town green, you balance your stay with a little getting back to civilization. You also have the option of easy highway access (roughly an hour north ) to tour Corning, Watkins Glenn, or the wine country around the Finger Lakes. Golf courses are reasonably close. Also it is worthy to note a number of annual activities held. The "Green Monster" running race passes thru the forest across the road from here in addition to mountain bike races. Driving thru the forest, you may see a variety of wildlife including deer, turkey, bears, coyote (mostly you just hear them at night) bobcats (maybe a fleeting glimpse) and grouse, chipmunks etc. The apartment sets on the second floor of a garage separate from the owners residence. There is a deck to relax on and a fire pit. If you have come on a motorcycle you are welcome to park in the shed over nite. Again , note the apartment is on the second floor. A carpeted stairway leads to the kitchen, living room, bedroom,, bathroom (shower), and laundry room (washer,dryer, and slop sink ). We welcome everyone including nature lovers, hikers, bicyclists, motorcyclists, hunters, fishermen, snowmobilers, canoers and kayakers. Make this your home away from home !

Summary: Our second time here and it's as lovely as the first time. Very picturesque surroundings and a beautiful quaint, clean and spacious apartment for two. The hosts could not be more friendly and gracious. They are very knowledgeable about the area and can answer any questions and make great suggestions about where to go and what to do. We look forward to our next trip here!

Summary: My partner and I loved this property! We're already talking about returning, perhaps in the fall, to see more sights.Our first impression was that the grounds are spacious, beautiful, and very-well kept. The rental unit is an apartment over the owner's garage, which is separate from the house, so it feels very private."Cozy" is exactly the right word for this apartment. It's perfect for a quiet, romantic getaway. As soon as we opened the door we could tell how clean it was - it smelled fresh and new, not musty like some places we've stayed. Every inch was absolutely immaculate. At the top of the stairs, the space opens to a small kitchen and a nice size living room with comfy seating. The kitchen table features trail maps and information about local attractions, and the owners provide flashlights, walking sticks, and orange vests and hats for hiking through the woods during hunting season. (Oh! And there's a washer/dryer off the kitchen!) The bedroom is calm and the bath has a full-size shower, which I was not expecting! Tom and Áine are both friendly and extremely responsive to all questions. I texted when we arrived and Áine came out in the rain to greet us and give us the code to the apartment. My partner wanted to take night sky photos, so we asked if some outdoor lights could be turned off for a couple hours one night and Tom was happy to accommodate us.Before we left, both Tom and Áine stopped by to chat and see us off. They truly made us feel right at home.

Summary: When you see so many perfect ratings on the place you are staying for a few days, it kind of gets you more excited to visit the apartment than the sites of the area. And while the PA Grand Canyon is a great escape loaded with peace and tranquility, our return each day to the spotless and cute apartment specially designed for a comfortable stay in the PA Wilds was top notch. Our hosts couldn’t be nicer. Tom and Aine make sure we had everything we could possibly need. It was fun interacting with them and their dogs too. They live on the property but like everything else, it was set up with a lot of forethought giving everyone privacy. Trust me if you want a great place to kick back, relax and enjoy a wonderful natural setting - this is the place. Thanks so much!

Summary: The cabin was beautiful, the property owners are on site and very welcoming, including their 4 dogs we was able to meet.the cabin had everything you needed and more. They also included some tourist information and maps. you have no neighbors to worry about, it is a beautiful country setting and only about 15-20 minutes from the town of wellsborro. Great area to see wildlife too, we seen deer which included a 6pt buck in velvet and a doe and her fawn, we also seen turkeys.

Summary: My husband and I had a wonderful second visit to this peaceful and cozy apartment. Tom and Aine are wonderful hosts and will make your stay extra special. The apartment is immaculately clean and very comfortable.We enjoyed riding the rail trail on our bikes. I highly recommend packing a lunch and stopping at the Tiadaghton Access Area for a picnic lunch. The Wellsboro area has some delicious restaurants for dinner. During our stay we enjoyed eating at the Wellsboro House, The Steak House, and Log Cabin Inn.
