The Red House is surrounded by acres of beautiful forest and is close to 12 conservation areas with hiking trails. Minutes to antiquing, Kripalu Yoga Center, Norman Rockwell Museum, The Mount, Tanglewood, Skiing, Shakespeare & Co. You’ll love my place because of the peace, quiet and seclusion. The Red House is good for couples, solo adventurers and families. Relax by the wood stove, in the sun room or explore nearby Spencertown, Chatham or West Stockbridge. Many ski slopes nearby.
The Red House is completely secluded but not far to town. The closest store is about a 10 minute drive in nearby Spencertown. The closest neighbor is about a 10 minute walk. There are 3 bedrooms. 2 with double beds and one with a single. In the downstairs tv room there is an additional pull out futon. A pack and play is available for babies.
The trees and deer make great neighbors! You will have complete privacy.
The Red House is located very close to the Massachusetts border and is a great place to stay to enjoy the many ski slopes in the area. It's close to Ski Butternut, Jiminy Peak, Bosquet, Catamount Ski Area and Otis Ridge.
If visiting in winter, snow tires or a 4x4 vehicle is recommended as the area gets a lot of snow and there a dirt roads leading up to the house.

Downstairs in the tv room there is a pullout double futon.
And in the attic there is a double futon floor mattress.

Summary: The house was in a great location to access the various places we wanted to visit in the Berkshires while giving us the space for my kids to have a room of their own and for each of us to have privacy when needed. My husband also went on some great trail runs and didn’t need to get in the car to access them. Communication with Emma was wonderful. She is super responsive, helpful and made sure we felt at home in her home. The house was definitely as expected and if we were to stay in the area again I would be happy to stay there again.

Summary: We had such a nice stay here! The house is clean and well equiped. We brought our young baby with us and appreciated that the house was kid-friendly. We also enjoyed some nearby hikes. All in all, a great woodsy getaway and we hope to be back one day!

Summary: The Red House was a lovely place to stay. The house was cozy and well stocked. The surrounding area was beautiful, if you are looking for a place to get away from people and to connect with nature. Very relaxing. Emma was really helpful and responded quickly to questions. We really enjoyed our stay!

Summary: This house and location are just as advertised. It is very secluded, the access is by a well-kept gravel road, and the house is rustic. All of these features were exactly what we were looking for. The house has lots of character and charm and is equipped with everything you might need. There nearby village of Chatham has several good restaurants and shopping. We enjoyed hikes at the Ooms Conservation land and the High Falls area, and there are plenty of other opportunities available. Really a great place to stay if you enjoy being out in the woods

Summary: Secluded property with well equipped kitchen so that we were able to comfortably cook several meals, grill, enjoy the fire pit & cozy, homey sitting areas and outdoor spaces while afforded plenty of privacy. Owner communication was great. Had a wonderful weekend with a group of friends!

Summary: We had a great weekend and the property is really nice. Additionally, we lost power and the property owner was very fast to respond and get in touch with the power company for us (and direct us to where candles and flashlights were located, etc.) Had power again a few hours later. We appreciated the attentiveness and obvious care that we were enjoying our stay. Thanks!

Summary: We loved the area and house. Clean and pleasant stay! Oom, Borden Pond, Beebe, and High Falls were close by. The hikes were nice and short for our boys (6 and 10 years old) to handle. Lunch at Our Daily Bread was great too. Very pretty area and house was nice and comfortable to hang in and outside had a nice patio and fire area.
