Our piece of paradise looks onto the turquoise waters of the Caribbean Sea. Our Beach is white powdery sand. A Majestic Coral Reef at about 200 yards extends several miles in both directions and protects this part of the island. Swim in the warm shallow waters and make friends with the local denizens, parrot fish, french grunt, squirrel fish, blue tang and maybe a school of squid! Many of them are inmortalized in our cave type wall paintings made by Artist April Cornell.
Do some shelling on the beach and find half-buried conch shells, ghost crabs and more. Your home is painted in cheerful island colors with beach chairs to relax in the evening and watch the stars sparkle in the southern sky.
We are happy to have taken over this beautiful Villa from renowned artist April Cornell. For more then 20 years April used this Villa as her Vacation Home. The House has an artistic character that is warm, lively and relaxing. Please note that some of our pictures that you can view on our webpage may be somewhat outdated, example we are continuously updating garden furnitures. Therefore the outdoor furnishings and ocean front doors that you see may not be necessarily the same. As further example we have replaced the "French Doors" facing the seaside with heavy duty impact resistant sliding doors.
Our House consists of three bedrooms and two baths. Each have their own charm. The master bedroom is upstairs and faces the sea, where warm island breezes can drift you to sleep. Across the hall is the second bedroom with two twin beds. Both rooms share the big bathroom upstairs. There is a third Bedroom with a Queen size Bed easily accessible on the ground floor, right next to the Ground Floor Bathroom.
A pretty courtyard with flowering hibiscus, bougainvillea and native shrubs is a place for a quiet sit, or a place to watch the tiny turquoise iguana climb the walls, and the bannaquits flutter in for a visit.
Nearby is beautiful Rum Point and Cayman Kai, a short drive or a fun bike ride away. Bikes are made available free of charge (pls thoroughly check them before usage). Pack a bathing suit and go for lunch, a snorkel a gentle swim or arrange for a visit to Stingray City or use our Kayak to explore our waters.
If you are a diver Ocean Frontiers in the East End offers an excellent staff and diving twice a day. Pop upstairs for a sundowner and delicious appetizers and watch the sun go down.
Kurt’s Corner and Over the Edge offer some of the freshest and inexpensive seafood around. They are 2-3 minutes away by car. A 15-20 minute drive towards past Old Man Bay are Big Tree BBQ (Gun Bay) owned and operated by a friendly Cayman Family and Tukka, owned and operated by Chef Ron (East End).

Summary: Super clean, lots of extra amenities - kayak, snorkel gear, basic pantry items (olive oil, Pam, salt,pepper, etc. Beach is very private. Definitely want water shoes for the rocky entrance. The reefs at Grand Cayman are not the most beautiful but it's still interesting to look and it's right out the back door. Toels are fluffy and plentiful. Small glitch with check-in but it got sorted out. The owner's handout that he sends is super helpful. Food is expensive; consider bringing snacks from home. Not allergy friendly-no gluten free options in grocery stores. Not many fruits or veggies either. We stopped at the market near the airport but it was New Years Day so slim pickings. North side of the island is really quiet, but that's what we wanted. Probably not great for teens-not enough to do on the island in general. We needed rest so for us it was perfect.

Summary: We loved our stay at the April Cornell house. We like to be away from it all--relax, read, nap... going mild. :D The beach is right outside and provided awesome sea glass walks daily! Enjoyed daily visits from lizards. The breeze is amazing and blew most days. The water is a bed of sea grass draws sea turtles. The home is quiet and very comfortable. The A/C works fabulously --welcome cooling on those really warm days. The home is located a somewhat busy street so you do hear occasional road noise when outside but not from inside the unit. Original art lives on the walls-and I do mean ON the walls...giving the rooms such a warm feel. Plenty of beach towels available!! You'll love it here! We did not want to leave. ----------------------- A few helpful tips for your visit: Groceries: There is a small grocery store about a mile down the road (Chisholm Grocery) which delivers for free. And the "good mood swing" is not far as well and is a great place to catch the sunset. Bug Spray: At dusk, the mosquitos are everywhere, and thick if the breeze isn't strong. Bring your bug spray! We also used citronella incense which helped quite a bit. There are a number of masks and fins at the home available for your use as well as a kayak, charcoal grill, and some sand toys. The parking lot is just in front of the row of units. There are 10 or so spots. If bringing multiple cars, this might be a challenge. We had no issues with only one car.

Summary: One of the best VRBO properties in which we have ever stayed. The property was exactly as advertised. Owner was easy to contact and provided excellent information on local amenities. The unit is on the "quiet side " of Grand Cayman and yet easily accessible to popular attractions and hidden gems.

Summary: It is a very nice property, beautiful views. It is a bit of a drive from Georgetown, but gives you a good excuse to explore the East End of the island

Summary: The home is comfortable and well cared for. Walking out to the ocean is a definite plus. La Casita Mexican restaurant and Eagle Rays Dive Bar and Grill had very good selections if you don’t want to make the drive to George Town. We also enjoyed the Crystal Caverns down the road.

Summary: Our family was very pleased with this home and had a wonderful time. It was very comfortable, right on the water, quiet and peaceful. It was exactly as described. We enjoyed the beach and snorkeling right outside and used it as a hub to enjoy other areas of the island. We especially appreciated use of the kayak, water shoes and bikes. There were other snorkeling items we had use of, but had brought our own. Walter was very prompt in answering any questions we had and we are already discussing when we can come again.

Summary: The house was perfect. We loved the decor and the low-key location. Snorkeling right in front of the beach. Rented a car to visit the rest of the island but happy to return back to the house afterwards. Love the beauty of 7 mile beach but love this location more. Lots of directions and advice from Walter in advance so everything went smoothly.
