Positive: The property was located in walking distance of lots of things, near a convenience store and restaurants as well as an amazing view of mount fuji. we only stayed for one night and i wish we booked more! the owner was so lovely and kind, and helped us book a taxi to the station.

Positive: Local, friendly and family operated, great location. Nestled between the train station and the temple uphill, as well as close to honcho street. It was easy to find and had an electric bike rental a few 100 meters up the road. Little snacks everyday. Shared facilities, but never had an issue using them alone. Big historic building.

Negative: A little bit loud if your neighbors aren’t quiet, in this case, I think we were the louder group. Although had the place to ourselves one of the nights.

Positive: Everything was excellent: however if you are used to sleeping on a bed other than a futon, be prepared to possibly be uncomfortable...especially if you are a side sleeper and have any shoulder issues. The futons are about half the thickness of futons I have purchased in the USA, so I needed to triple the amount of the futons (which fortunately there was a third one available in the closet for me since there were only two of us staying in the "family" sized room). Other than that, everything was superb. The lady of the house let us store our luggage before check-in and after check-out...so NICE!!

Negative: the futons could be thicker

Summary: It was everything one can expect of a traditional Ryokan for an exceptional value.

Positive: Well cared for older home. Very quiet and peaceful. Not too hard to walk to and from the station and some local restaurants if you're not carrying much. I hope anyone who stays here can be gentle to the building and the surroundings. The host asked when I wanted to take a bath, at first I didn't know why. Then I learned that they will pour the bath for you in the bathhouse, which takes about 20 minutes. Arigatou!

Positive: We really loved this magical cultural experience as felt like we were back in time 400 years ago. staying in a traditional Royokan. The host was so friendly and nurturing and our children loved her dog Tololo. The gardens and the serenity was just what we needed after a busy week in Tokyo and the views of Mt Fuji just outside were incredible!

Negative: The showers were a bit hard to figure out as sometimes cold
