Positive: Lovely grounds, gardens, pond. Really clean, nice tables by the pond to sit and have a drink. Shame no tables to eat outside as the restaurant was super hot! Room was nice, big bath and four poster bed. No aircon but a decent fan.

Negative: Basic spa, location is beautiful but too far to walk to anywhere

Positive: Good location, lovely staff, good food and a spa with pool.

Negative: The room advertised on booking.com which apparently we could book was not the one we were allocated so not as advertised. We could not have stayed in that room as it was very noisy with extractor fan noise, small with a very small en-suite and an awful view. We were given an upgrade to a lovely room but had to pay for it which in this instance we were happy to do.

Summary: Relaxing and enjoyable once we had our room changed.

Positive: Loved the breakfast. Room was clean. Bed was comfy. Staff were friendly, especially the bar man. Enjoyed the jacuzzi and sauna. Great facilities for a 3 star hotel. Lovely grounds and very peaceful . 10 minutes from Bowness.

Negative: We were in the main bit of the hotel in a standard room. Walls are paper thin and rooms quite small so close together. You can hear alarms, talking, hair dryers etc from neighbouring rooms. People across from us seemed to have had friends in their room and were laughing and talking until late so needed to create make shift ear plugs from cotton wool. The receptionist the next day said I should have called the night manager. I would stay again but in a different room
