Positive: We had a great stay at this lovely Dar. Nice, helpful staff, always responsive to our needs. Charming room with typical design, heating works fine (AC), clean, good breakfast (served at the break of dawn at our request since it was Ramadan). Nice terasse to hang out outside the room, full kitchen that can be used. Also good value for money. 10mins to the blue gate, 20mins on foot to Qarawiyyin.

Negative: The room had a bit of a smell, it was not dirty -could have been the aircon or the wet wood, since the place is traditional and quite old, even if renovated recently. But the problem was minor. Also a lot of stairs - but if you are in a normal shape not a problem.

Summary: Good value for money in the middle of Medina

Positive: Soukana Zayd and Abdullah were instrumental in making our family stay absolutely great. Communication was prompt prior and during the stay. Always at hand to serve with great honour. Location Location Location: Ticks all boxes for great medina feeling. Highly recommend for couple and families alike.

Negative: Building renovation work was being carried out at the time we stayed but this is minor. Rooms could of been little more warm as AC we couldn't work it but that could be down to us

Positive: First of all, it was a cultural experience. The staff was exceptional, kind and the breakfast was awesome. The location was right in the center of the city. The bed was very good — lot of warm blankets were provided. Room heater was available and we slept well.

Negative: We did not realize from the pictures that the rooms were very small with very little space. However, that is probably the experience of living in an old house. If sq footage of the room is mentioned, it will be good. The lighting in the room can be improved. We had lot of rain when we visited and the bathroom ceiling started leaking with heavy rains.

Negative: One of the most uncomfortable beds I’ve ever slept in. I’ve travelled to nearly 100 countries and stayed at many places including hostel dorms. This was one of the most uncomfortable and stiff beds I’ve had and it made it difficult to sleep at night. I had to put down 3 blankets under me just to fall asleep. I notified staff about this after my first night and they offered to move me to a different room, but the beds there were just as uncomfortable! There are reviews for the property that describe how comfortable the beds are, so I have no idea what’s going on. I’ve stayed at other medina riads in Morocco that were way more comfortable.

Positive: Everything was amazing. The location and the breakfast and the kindness of the staff are the highlights. The pictures are accurate. The breakfast is served at 9ish and is very nice. Very small place with few rooms only so very nice intimate vibe.

Negative: Nothing! Everything was perfect for us.
