Welcome to Bienvenue (a nod to our NOLA roots)! Darling, pet friendly, historic cottage within walking distance to shops & restaurants to include Southern Soul BBQ and the shops of Redfern Village. Beautiful, original wood floors add to the charm of this well appointed home along with two large bedrooms and bathrooms, upscale kitchen appliances boasting a gas range, and on-demand water heater. The extra large L-shaped leather couch allows for extra comfort along with ceiling fans through out.
This cottage was designed for maximum indoor-outdoor enjoyment. Enjoy the stainless gas grill, a charcoal grill, big smoker that can roast oysters or smoke your favorites cuts of meat, and a two burner gas cooker for those low-country boils. Dog door opens onto a 500 sf screened porch in the back complete with large television, comfy sofa and chairs and a separate dining area, all over-looking a new pool (completed October 2021) with beautiful silver travertine decking.
Oh, and don’t forget Spot. Bienvenue loves house trained, well mannered K9s. Your fur baby will enjoy the doggie door and the safety of the fully fenced rear yard, but sorry, no felines allowed as the owner is highly allergic to them.
A short walk to East Beach, but only a block from Southern Soul BBQ and the many restaurants and shops of Redfern Village. This cottage is actually our retirement home and therefore feels like home, versus a simple vacation rental. You will not be disappointed. We look forward to hearing from you.

Summary: The home was spotless, well-maintained & with lovely décor. The kitchen was very well stocked. The furniture was very comfortable. The fenced in yard was great for our dog. The neighborhood was great for taking walks. We loved the front porch & back screened in porch. The yard was sweet. You can tell this home is loved. There is a lot to do in the area & restaurants are great. Management was extremely responsive & helpful. We hope to stay at this gem again.

Summary: Our 5th vacation house rental SSI met all of our wants and needs. Pet friendly, spotlessly clean, meticulously cared for, perfectly stocked, comfortable beds and furniture, large ensuite bathrooms, 2 queens, covered/screened porches, and a lovely pool. Initially concerned about being located near Soul BBQ and not closer to Mallery St as we typically are, but it simply was not an issue.

Summary: This home was absolutely perfect for our family of 4! Everything was clean and nice, and we loved the screened in porch out back. The pool has its own bathhouse with it as well, making it even more convenient.

Summary: We really enjoyed our vacation at this property. The house is lovely, well taken care of and has a lot of character. The pool was great, the temperature of the water was perfect. The house was very well cleaned upon arrival. It is very close to the little shops and restaurants and the pier. Very nice screened in patio with a comfortable couch and huge TV. Plenty of pans and cookware for those who prefer to cook meals. We would stay here again for sure!

Summary: This was my first big family vacation since my husband died and my 3 kids and I had the BEST time. The house was beautiful! The backyard and pool were awesome. The neighborhood was a great place to ride our bikes in the evening. It was located really close to a few things but not too far from the beach and pier. Check in was very easy and Jane gave some great suggestions for things to do and places to eat on the island. We explored all over the island, played on the beach but really loved cooking food at the house and watching a movie and relaxing in the pool at night. The kids are already planning another trip to SSI and we would definitely stay at Bienvenue again.

Summary: My family had a delightful time at Jane's home. The home was immaculate. We enjoyed the porch and pool daily. The trip to the beach was an easy drive. The home had everything we could need to make our own meals. There were even staples in the fridge like butter, jam, and a bottle of wine. We will definitely stay again.

Summary: My husband and I stayed here with our 2 children (ages 9 and 10) and our pug. This house was perfect for our family. It was the perfect size, great location, but the pool was the highlight. We got so much use out of the pool. Our children loved it (as did my husband and I). The beds were the most comfortable we have slept in outside of our own. The kitchen was very well stocked. This was our first time visiting St. Simon’s Island and we fell in love with it. We will be back and plan to stay at this amazing cottage if it is available.

Summary: We really enjoyed this cottage! Very convenient location. The screened in porch is fantastic. It was large enough for the dogs to play ball and be out of the sun. We should have used the pool more than we did but seemed to be too busy doing something else. Jane was fantastic to work with and the welcome gift was much appreciated. On a side note, I'm thinking we have stayed here once before ( pre pool), but VRBO doesn't show enough history to know for sure. We will bookmark this cottage for future trips.
