Positive: Beautiful Apartment with direct access to the lagoon, very comfortable and very friendly and helpful owners. The kitchen was well equipped and we enjoyed our stay a lot! Highly recommend! We also liked the town of Bacalar a lot, it felt safe and had great restaurants!

Positive: The location on the water with private dock was amazing! We were able to use the kayaks, enjoy private swimming, and nice sunrises. It is not too far to walk into town, which we did, but at night the dogs in the area do seem less friendly. We made use of the kitchen for breakfasts, great to have electric kettle and garrafon for water. Our hosts graciously helped us communicate with car rental company when we experienced an issue.

Negative: Not a dislike, but information for fellow travelers...the property is located next to a tour company and public access area. The dock access was private for us, but it is not a totally secluded area as one might see in their home countries. This was not an issue for us.

Positive: The spectacular view of the lake from the apartment, the friendly and helpful staff and the quietness of the place. I think we got unlucky with the weather but we had a sunny day on our first day and had so much fun staying at the garden/ lake side! Our kids spent hours and hours swimming right in front of the house and as parents it felt safe because you have a good view from the house.

Negative: We had heavy rains on our last day and water started to leak from the ceiling. Some things also didnt work well such as clogged shower and broken slide door lock. The house caretaker fixed everything quickly though!

Positive: The garden with the jetty and lake views is what makes this place special. Our kids age 7 & 10 loved jumping off into the water, the hammocks etc. The big sky views are spectacular - sunrise,, night and day. The accommodation is spacious with air con and fans. It has basic provisions like washing up liquid, toilet roll, coffee etc which is helpful. Staff are friendly.

Negative: The road before you reach the property is not surfaced and there are a lot of pot holes! It's a good 15-20 minute walk into the centre of Bacalar and the walk back at night is pretty dark (although we were told very safe and we could have taken a taxi). Expect basic furniture/furnishings.

Positive: Great people to deal with! The apartment was perfect. Big kitchen and bathroom. Sleeping quarters huge. There is a safe (loved that) which I found to be rare in Bacalar. The owner and his son helped me get the charcoal grill started. The lake is just 100 feet from the door. No regrets.

Negative: There is nothing to dislike.
