Small cosy cabin retreat, 1 hour's drive from Auckland. Cliff top views of Manukau Harbour and Auckland City lights. Very private and quiet. Bathtub under the stars overlooking the bay and the city. Don't forget to bring your favourite bath bubbles and oils! Huge decks to relax and unwind while enjoying the forest and harbour views.
Close to the Awhitu golf course and Regional Park, local winery, amazing Manukau Heads Lighthouse, and many local beaches for swimming (including Wattle Bay which is a few minutes' walk from the cabin if you have reasonable fitness, otherwise just a minute or two car-ride).
The cabin has been designed to suit a couple who want a private, quiet, relaxing break away from it all. While comfortable and with everything you need, it is a basic, comfortable rustic retreat where you can enjoy some solitude and peace away from the rush of the City. There is no TV, just the distant sound of the sea, the wind in the pine trees and the occasional tui. The cabin has plenty of supplies for cooking and total relaxation...with an exceptionally comfortable King-sized bed and full bathroom. The kitchen is small but well-equipped for cooking meals for two. There is also an outdoor shower to wash sand and salt off after swims. (Note that although we do not supply WIFI, there is a decent cellular signal).
Take a book, your journals, your meditation music...just relax and enjoy your stay at our remote and relaxing location.
This property is not suitable for children or those with mobility issues due to surrounding steep terrain/uneven surfaces etc. The cabin sleeps a maximum of two people.
We maintain a 100% STRICT NO SMOKING POLICY. This means that any smoking anywhere on the property at all is strictly prohibited, for the sake of fire safety and the comfort of our guests and cleaners.
Please note that this is a fairly remote rural property. Awhitu Peninsula has a coastal landscape with often steep terrain and dramatic weather at times! Most of the time there is no one around. The closest shop is a mini-mart at Matakawau Village which is 15 minutes' drive from the cabin. Guests need to bring milk and all food supplies required.
