Positive: We absolutely loved our stay at Hotel Dialoog Banyuwangi. The hotel is beautiful, the food is outstanding, and above all, the staff are simply fantastic. Everyone is incredibly friendly, attentive and genuinely willing to help. You immediately feel welcome here. A special compliment to the reception team. You can literally ask them anything, and they are always ready to help and find a solution. The fact that the reception is available 24/7 is a huge plus and gives you a real sense of comfort and security. And the food is amazing. The quality, flavours and presentation were excellent, and we thoroughly enjoyed every meal we had at the hotel. Definitely something worth mentioning and one of the highlights of our stay.
Negative: There is, however, one point that is important for travellers like us to mention. We personally place a very high value on peace, privacy and being able to enjoy our surroundings without constantly being photographed or filmed. During our time in Banyuwangi, we noticed that many local people, as well as visitors from neighbouring countries, are extremely focused on social media. Everywhere we went, people seemed to be taking photos and videos, often with semi-professional cameras, tripods and other equipment. We experienced the same thing during dinner at the hotel. Some guests were busy creating content throughout the meal, including going live on social media with their phones mounted on tripods next to the table. Of course, everyone is free to enjoy social media however they wish, but for us personally, this takes away from the peaceful and private atmosphere we value when having dinner or relaxing. We want to stress that this is not really a criticism of Hotel Dialoog itself. The hotel and its staff are wonderful. It is more something that travellers who, like us, highly value privacy and tranquillity should be aware of when visiting Banyuwangi. Despite this, we look back on our stay with great pleasure. The wonderful staff, excellent service, fantastic food and beautiful property make Hotel Dialoog a place we would happily recommend.

Positive: The hotel offers a beautiful view, and it’s worth getting up early to enjoy the sunrise. The staff are friendly and very helpful.
Negative: We could hear the mosque’s prayer call quite clearly from our room, which may affect light sleepers.

Positive: The location was beautiful and the lobby had a great feeling and was very impressive.
Negative: The room was very small, and most of the room was the bathroom (i.e., the entire room was tiled and set up like a studio apartment where there was no division between the toilet, shower, bed and vanity). We also had to specially request a fridge, but there were none available. Also, our window had a sea view but we were not able to leave the curtains open as other rooms could see directly into ours.
Summary: Lovely location although we wouldn’t have wanted to stay longer than 1-2 nights.

Positive: Everything in this hotel is well thought out. The attention from the beginning cannot be compared to any other hotels we’ve stayed during our month long trip in Indonesia. The staff is very kind and accommodating. We tried the batik workshop and felt deeply grateful for the kindness the experts extended to us sharing their traditions. The massages were also worth booking. We had a very pleasant stay. The food was also delicious! We were worried it wasn’t going to be given the city and that it’s still not touristy yet we were greatly surprised! Thank you so much !!
Negative: It may not be about the hotel per se but perhaps culturally, it is common that the service staff in the restaurant when you order out of the menu are not proactive in always looking if a table is calling them for assistance. This is, of course, a personal preference. We would only suggest perhaps reinforcing the pro activity to look out for any raised hands. In addition to this, we thought we could access the beach but it’s in poor condition, with garbage and plastics around. We understand it may be the condition of it in the city.

Positive: The hotel is absolutely beautiful — it looks exactly like in the photos. Gorgeous staircase and stunning sunsets, everything is clean and well-maintained. The staff are extremely kind and friendly. The pool is beautiful, and the resort offers breathtaking views. The breakfasts are absolutely delicious, with plenty of tasty options. We will definitely recommend this place to anyone planning to visit. Highly recommended!
