Relax by the fireplace during cool spring nights and gather with family in the spacious communal dining room. We offer a SoulCycle bike and yoga mats for post-adventure workouts, along with entertainment from two TVs streaming Netflix, Hulu, and HBO Max.
Minutes away from Woodstock and Hudson, our cabin is an ideal base for exploring the Catskills. Whether you're into scenic drives or seeking serene surroundings, this is the perfect spot.

The home is down a private gravel road that is off the beaten path. So if you want an escape, you have found it. The cabin is in a rural area, with limited cell service. You may have to use wifi to get cell service, that's how we take calls from the cabin and it works fine. Some cell providers are better than others.
The road is gravel, please follow the 10 MPH speed limit as it minimizes the wear and tear.
During the winter: When it snows they plow it every time it gets more than an inch of snow. Sometimes it take a little while for that to happen. My driveway is also plowed every time it snows more than an inch. After an overnight snow, my guy usually comes first thing in the morning. If it snows in the afternoon it is usually within a few hours. That's why I recommend an all-wheel or four wheel drive vehicle. If you are concerned about getting stuck in the driveway you can always park out by the gravel road. I've never had a problem but just want to put all that info on here.
We recommend that you have a car for getting around. And specifically an all-wheel or 4Wheel drive vehicle if it is during the snowy season. The Amtrak train stops at Hudson, NY which is a 25 minutes drive from the house. It's possible to take an Uber or taxi from the train station to the house if you have guests arriving without a car. The house is about a 30 minute drive from Albany which has the nearest airport. The house has a two car garage which guests are welcome to use and parking space for three (or more) cars in the driveway.
Please don’t wear shoes in the house. If you have a dog, they must be approved with us prior to check-in. You can smoke but just do it outside away from the home.

Summary: Driving down the private road and turning on to the property we were greeted by a picturesque landscape and the view of the pond. We knew we had found the perfect place to retreat in the woods. Our mornings began with coffee on the porch on the rocking chairs taking in the serene view. The house is spacious and tastefully decorated and the beds very comfortable. All amenities were provided and cooking in the kitchen was a treat with spices and several coffee options to enjoy. From an expresso to French press we were happy. With all the beauty of Nature I enjoyed sketching as well as painting the scenery. We explored the area and enjoyed the town of Saugerties and Catskill as well. Thanks to our host Eric who quickly responded to a few questions we had. A lovely retreat that we will come back and visit again.

Summary: The Cabin on the Pond is a lovely house in a secluded location, which is close to many small towns and other interesting sites. It is spacious and has a beautiful view. When we experienced a minor problem, Eric resolved it promptly. I would recommend this property highly!

Summary: The cabin was well appointed and extremely comfortable. Kitchen was stocked better than any other VRBO I've stayed in! Beautiful surrounding grounds and Spring was just starting. Would definitely recommend it!!

Summary: If you want to know what it might be like to wake up and understand the inspiration for Thomas Cole's paintings, spend a night at the cabin on the pond. You'll see the morning and evening light hitting the trees around the water in that unmistakable way. The night we drove in, a fox crossed our path, and every morning ducks swam in the pond while deer fed nearby. The house itself is beautifully decorated with a well-stocked kitchen and plenty of extras, like a turntable and a small but fun collection of LPs. WiFi worked perfectly.

Summary: Although the weather was unseasonable warm for good skiing, the cabin experience was wonderful. The pond setting was beautiful and my dogs enjoyed chasing the chipmunks. The cabin was well furnished. The beds were all outstanding. The Wi-Fi amazing for that area. The area is charming with lots of hiking trails.
