Only a mile-and-a-half to the west, the fishing town features delicious cuisine at the High Tide Cafe and Miller's at the Cove. From Charleston it's another mile-and-a-half to gentle waves and fishing boats at Bastendorff Beach Park. Cape Arago State Park is seven miles from home and is full of tidepools teeming with marine life. You might even spot some sea lions!
The deck lets you admire the towering trees around you, and catch a glimpse of the waters of the slough. Inside, cuddle with your loved ones on the sectional sofa (dogs are also welcome, though not on the sofas, for a small nightly pet fee!) Summary: This is really a home away from home with everything you could wish for. The living and dining room are very spacious, perfect for a family with children. There is a large back porch to enjoy fresh air in summer. Everything is well equipped. We had our family dog with us and there was ample space outside. The area is very quiet and only 8 minutes drive to a state park along the beach. In 5 minutes you are at a local grocery store and a specialty seafood store.

Summary: Was a great get away with friends. Fully stocked kitchen. We brought our own firewood and really enjoyed the wood stove. Was an amazing trip with friends over the holiday weekend.

Summary: The setting was spectacular. We went mid October 2024. Make sure you take fire wood and starters. The heating in the house works just fine but the wood burning stove is lovely. We went for a wedding, it was great to have the ironing board, etc. full washer and dryers...everything you need to cook, etc. Couches are leather so you need to be careful with that but the heat was nice so they were not cold. Very private!

Summary: This place is ideal for a family get-together. The location is perfect with easy access to Sunset Beach and Shore Acres State Park, as well as the town of Coos Bay. The property was clean and well maintained.

Summary: The view/deck is stunning. We visit Charleston every year for the 4th of July and husbands birthday and this is the most expensive house we’ve rented and I was disappointed. The weeds are so over grown it makes it look abandon when you pull up. The gutters are so full that there is even weeds growing up out of the gutters. It says it has a hot tub which was a big reason we rented this place. Well, there is a hot tub there, it’s just empty and not useable. The bathrooms are gorgeous. It’s like they started updating the house and stopped….one of the doors is not even trimmed out, the molding on the beam in the living room ceiling stops half way down the beam. The TV is a blue color, so we couldn’t watch tv. The kitchen has the very bare minimums. Not very many dishes. There was 6 of us for a week…couldn’t find extra paper towels or toilet paper as there was only 2 rolls of each, so we had to go buy our own. Same with trash bags. The trash cans outside were already full of trash. I love the area and we had a great stay, it just needs a little TLC.
