Positive: Very old building - apparently Napoleon either lived there or visited and tied up his horse in the restaurant area. The owner was lovely but didn't speak any English, her son did however. The rooms were completed and were very comportable.

Negative: The place was very hard to find, the village was very quite. The outside was not completed in the renovations - diggers etc on site. There is a Dance Hall being renovated when we were there also. Dinner choices were - Confit Duck - Duck kebab or monkfish, all cook in a very French style, not everyone choice. Unfortunatly we were the only guest that nights.

Summary: Comfy but only stay one night

Positive: It's a beautiful building. We saw a spectacular sunrise through the trees. Lovely big bath and shower in the room we had. Great breakfast! It was a lovely respite after driving on motorways all the way from the south west of Spain. Off the beaten track.

Negative: It would be helpful to warn guests that some (or all) of the rooms are not suitable for people with reduced mobility. The stairs going up to our room were extremely steep. And the bed was so high off the ground you have to climb into it!

Positive: Told by proprietor that she did not want to cook dinner for me as the only guest and proposed a restaurant 4kms away. No signage at all outside the property (nb 'a 3 star hotel' creating a long search up and down the road to find it. My room was up a very steep, dark and unlit outside wooden staircase, I was told that it was ok as the light would come on when it was dark outside. When I returned from the restaurant, not a single light was on outside or inside, except the one I had left on, expecting nothing less, in my room. Had I not had a mobile phone with a light in it, there would have been pitch darkness.

Negative: The breakfast was cery good and service attentive (being the only guest)

Summary: Don't advertise as an hotel until you light the place!

Positive: Beautiful Chateau-like with geese and chickens. Very rural. Perfect location for visiting our friends locally. Spacious accommodation.

Negative: Rooms were a bit cold and damp. I think we were the first occupants for a while.

Summary: Remote and rural: you are left to your own devices.
