This cozy House is located on top of the Gunks a few miles away from Minnewaska State Park main entry. House is facing State forest and is a perfect getaway from hectic city life. The space has been carefully redesigned with a lot of details for guests to enjoy the stay. We are very serious about the cleaning/laundry process. Fast internet, complimentary high quality coffee and tea, natural body wash/shampoo. There are good restaurants, wineries, farms and great outdoor activities around.
Space is very cozy and decorated with lots of loving details. Wood burning stove is in the living room. We provide complementary candles and incense. Living room has oversized corner couch which is great for gatherings with friends. There is two patios with additional sitting.
You will have full access to the house, porches and balcony. Parking for two cars right in front of the porch.
You will have the house for yourself, but we will be around the area, and available to text or email or emergency calls. Cell coverage is spotty in our area, but we have a fast (200+mps) wi-fi network.
The house is situated on top of the Shawangunk Ridge, (The Gunks) surrounded by pine forest, the granite rocks and breathtaking views
It is only 1 mile away from the spectacular Stony Kill Falls
Within short 4 miles there is an entrance to the Minnewaska state park, with its well-maintained biking trails, crystal clear swimmable lakes, hiking trails, rock climbing and breathtaking views of the Hudson valley from over 2,000 feet high.
In the short vicinity there are also 4 wineries, plenty of restaurants including famous Brauhaus
Art centers, organic farms, ski, skydiving, paragliding and many many more.
The friendly hosts are local enthusiasts and are happy to share their knowledge of the best spots and variety of the local activities with the guests of the house.
No public transit, the car is the best way to get here, however taxi cab from New Paltz can take you there to spend a relaxing day or two.
Water:
Our water is safe to drink. We have our own private water well. However, it is possible it might smell like a bit of sulphur though. It is a feature of the water in the Gunks because of the elements in the rock. I also have a functional and well maintained water treatment system in the basement. Finally, there are additional drinking water faucets installed in the kitchen. However, if you absolutely hate taste of any elements in the water please have extra drinking water with you to cook.
Cleaning:
We clean responsibly using Lysol antibacterial products
Biking, hiking, swimming, rock-climbing, skydiving, paragliding, wine tasting, restaurants, art centers, organic farms, harvest (apples, blueberries, peach, raspberry etc.), caving, star gazing and many more

Summary: This is a small house, well-suited for a couple or two, or for a family where sharing double beds is acceptable. The house is comfortable, but not at all luxurious. The décor is a hodge-podge and there is some unfinished wood trim in the bathroom. The beds are exceptionally comfortable-- slept very well. The little battery-powered candles are atmospheric and abundance of USB charged ports appreciated. There are several other properties very close by-- it's not at all isolated, but we heard nothing from any neighbors and rarely even saw another human being. Road noise from the nearby highway is noticeable from the front porch and detracts from a true sense of natural isolation. The kitchen is adequately, but not generously appointed (only three bowls) and the propane-range is significantly under-powered. OK, but not great if you are planning to cook meals. Coffee and tea are generously provided. The owner and their help communicate well and are responsive. It's a perfect location for exploring the 'Gunks-- just a few minutes drive to Minnewaska.

Summary: Nice place for a weekend getaway in the Gunks area. Very close to Minnewaska, not far from Mohonk and New Paltz too. In a very nice, quiet spot off the main road. House was clean and served all our needs for the weekend. There's no TV but that wasn't really an issue for us. Owner was very good with communication and provided very detailed info on the house/property. Would stay again!
