This beautiful 36 acre mountain retreat at 9100 ft, offers every amenity imaginable and would appeal to the dreamer, the artist, the writer, a family or a group of great friends looking to enjoy fresh air, sunshine, and solitude yet only short drive from Telluride Mountain Ski resort, a world class summer & winter destination.
โ€œEagles Nestโ€ offers breathtakingly beautiful 360 views of the Uncompahgre and San Miguel Ranges and sights as far as Utah. Enjoy your morning coffee on the expansive wrap-around deck surrounded by ponderosa pines and aspen trees while watching the humming birds buzz, and the eagles catch the thermals. During the day, depending on your season, enjoy a day of hiking, fly-fishing, rafting, snowshoeing, cross country or downhill skiing, or just reading a good book and then relax your muscles in the 8 person hot tub just off the deck. In the evening, while watching spectacular sunsets, delight in cooking a gourmet meal while feeling the crackling warmth of the Irish Waterford wood burning fireplace set between the 8-foot picture windows in the cathedral ceiling living room. Finally, gaze, in awe, at the million star-filled sky that can never be adequately described. This is truly a destination in and of itself to let you leave the world behind and fill your mind, body and soul with all the beauty of a Colorado mountain retreat.
And even though you will feel a world away, Telluride Town and Telluride Mountain Ski Resort are only 30 minutes away, where you can shop, downhill ski, dine in world class restaurants, or see a movie at the Nugget. With summer festivals (film, wine tasting, music) almost every weekend, and winter skiing that is second to none, Telluride is a world class resort with an old mining town feel.
Our home offers 4 bedrooms (1 king and 3 queen) plus one extra queen sofa bed in the 3rd floor observatory that comfortably sleeps 10. We have two full baths, an open living room, and dining area that seats 14. The enormous deck also has ample seating for dining as well as a stainless steel barbeque, chairs and stone coffee table.
If in winter, you can enjoy snowshoeing, with 8 pair of snow shoes for your use and you can start your โ€œexerciseโ€ right outside the door.
If in summer, enjoy some of the best fly fishing on the San Miguel river at the base of our access road. Or take a hike on the wildflower filled Mesa. The sky is truly the limit!
If you are a long term renter and have to do some work, the house is has two desk areas, a fax/copier/ printer, and WiFi. When you are done with work, you can relax to your favorite surround sound music, watch Satellite TV, or a DVD.
Other Amenities include dog friendly environment, regular road plowing, and backup generator so you should never be without power.

Summary: The family and I had a wonderful vacation at this home. We saw beautiful sunrises in the living room. The home was very private, very spacious and beautiful. We enjoyed watching nature and the serene beauty and quiet of the woods in mountains!

Summary: Had a wonderful trip. Got snowed in and loved it on Christmas Day. House had great views and lots of room. Was seven miles down a forestry road. Was a challenge with the ice. Listing didnโ€™t mention need for four wheel drive or chains. Property owner communication was great. Mentioned need for four wheel drive in pre stay communication a couple days before stay was to occur. Our party made it work getting to and from the house.

Summary: We stayed here for about 2 weeks for the second rifle elk season and we enjoyed the entire time we were there. Briught the whole family and two frienfs, llentty of room and very cozy, a great stay and highly recommend for others! Summary: We had an amazing time at Eagles Nest! We stayed in the summer and planned activities near Ouray and Telluride, so the location was perfect! We went to Box Caรฑon Falls, Bear Creek Falls, and Cascade Falls in Ouray. We spent an afternoon at the Ouray Hot Springs. We rode the free gondola in Telluride and visited Bridal Veil Falls. Some of us hiked the Blue Lakes Trail, which was absolutely beautiful! We visited Alta Ghost Town and paddleboarded at Alta Lakes. My brother summited Mt. Sneffels. We rented UTVs in Ouray and drove up Yankee Boy Basin and Governor Basin. The scenery there was breathtaking! There's so much to do in the area, and we always looked forward to coming home to Eagles Nest. It is such a peaceful place. We felt like we were away from everything and immersed in nature. We loved the large windows in every room, and the fold out dining table worked perfectly for our big family. The hot tub was nice to relax in, and the kids enjoyed exploring the property. The best part was the incredible views from the deck! The photos do not do it justice. The hosts were great, responsive and helpful. We hope to come back soon!

Summary: The home is very spacious and the views would be hard to match. We saw deer daily outside the windows and a bear driving up to the house. It is off the main road, but that is what gives you the views. We would definitely stay again. Property manager was on top of things to ensure satisfaction. Nice central location to Ourey, Telluride and Moab.

Summary: We stayed at Eagles Nest with four couples during the Telluride Bluegrass festival. The house was amazing and very comfortable. Although we didnโ€™t cook dinners, the kitchen was well appointed. The views from the living room and deck were amazing. The beds were comfortable. Showers were terrific. We gave it a four star rating for listing accuracy because it was further from the town of Placerville than expected. That being said, the location was beautiful and very peaceful. Would recommend for a group or family getaway.

Summary: This house has stunning views , it's very well stocked, spacious living and sleeping areas, and a wonderful hot tub It is located 45 minutes from Telluride. Definitely follow the home owners' suggestion that you rent a 4 wheel drive car/SUV. It 's a long dirt road to the house, it was plowed but somewhat difficult to navigate. However ,it was well worth it! The owner's were very responsive to our needs and provide an immaculate , warm and inviting home.

Summary: We really enjoyed the views off the deck. Breathtaking sunrise & sunsets. Lovely, comfortable home. Robes a really nice & special touch. Really appreciated how clean it was, the coffee maker especially. Weโ€™ve had some bad luck in the past with other rentals. The check out was a breeze unlike so many other places. Would 100% stay again.
