Positive: Want to disconnect from the world? I can’t think of many better places than el Amparo. The wonderful team of Jodie, Nick, Stewart, Jo & Delia were so welcoming and provided lovely, warm hospitality throughout our 3 day stay. But not intrusively as we had the most peaceful and serene time in this stunning location The rolling hills, glistening pool and comfy facilities including squashy beds round the pool , Luxury showers and paired back Andalusian furnishings in the gorgeous rooms added to our stay. highlights include Stewart’s cooking, and the twice daily herd of goats passing by. We will be back again. !

Positive: Free parking, nice views, reasonable breakfast, good size room. I think this would be a lovely place to visit in the heat of summer as there is a nice pool, great views and because you're in the mountains it's cooler. We went just before it was going to shut for the season when it was colder and it wasn't a great experience.
Negative: The heating/cooling situation, we stayed in mid October when it was starting to cool down. We were greeted by the owner on arrival as it was a day off for the staff, they showed us around and explained that the heating system was under the floor and a bit complex so best to message to get it sorted and that there was a control in the room we could use for moving up and down how we would like by a degree or two (but no display as to what temperature- just going blind). We followed their instructions and the temperature was okish but did get either cold or hot. One of the following days when we came back to the room the housekeeper was there and had a go at us for touching the controls- very verbally confrontational and counter to what the owner had said. Also we choose the place because of the location to visit other places and use as a hub based on google maps travel times. After you've booked and just before you are about to arrive we were told that google maps is incorrect and took you on a gravel road which is only suitable for 4 wheel drives, the actual way to get there involves going a longer way through a small town. This would've been good to have known beforehand on the main advert as we likely would've chosen to stay elsewhere. It was not a pleasant experience and I wish we had stayed somewhere else.
Summary: Only go when it is hot weather and know you'll need to travel longer to get there
