Positive: Very nice to stay short or long term in South Shields. The property is well located at the end of the Ocean Road in walking distance to the beach and the city center/Metro connection. Right in front of the house are plenty of food choices. My room was spacious and had an en-suite, both very clean. The shared kitchen is big and offers all required appliances and cooking tools, even a dishwasher. Last but not least is Colin an amazing host. He gives clear and detailed instructions for check in and out, including touristic information about the area. If required he is available via WhatsApp with very little response time. I can just recommend Comfort House to everyone who wants to stay in South Shields.

Positive: I had a wonderful stay at 109 Ocean Road in South Shields! The room was clean, comfortable, and well-furnished, with an attached full bathroom that added a lot of convenience. The memory foam mattress was quite comfortable, though I personally prefer a firmer, spring mattress—just a personal preference that doesn’t detract from the room's overall comfort. The kitchen was also a great feature—clean, well-maintained, and stocked with plenty of dishes, utensils, and appliances, making it easy to cook or prepare meals. The location is fantastic, just a short walk from the beach and surrounded by great restaurants and cafes. The host was welcoming and attentive, managing the property remotely, which I saw as a big plus for privacy. He checked in several times during the week to make sure everything was going well, which I appreciated. Highly recommend this spot for anyone looking to stay in South Shields!
Negative: I stayed for a week and had nobody show up to clean the room. I can understand a night or two stay without towel refresh etc but week seemed too long. Perhaps that's how it is supposed to be there but for a single professional guy staying in a guesthouse for a week, it was a real tester to have to do the laundry, etc. and I won't forget Colin making me earn this badge according to my significant other. The only part where it didn't feel like home! 😀

Positive: Access was via a key box, but the landlord was available by phone.. Property was shared fully equipped kitchen, utility room and lounge. I booked at short notice and extended my stay. Room with shower was clean & tidy, but rather small. To be fair, I was informed it was small, but storing my suitcase was an issue.
Negative: The toilet was outside, next to my room, so a supplied dressing gown would have saved getting dressed to visit the toilet.
Summary: Pleased to stay here and would stay again.

Positive: Very friendly owner who made sure I had everything sorted and I was okay. Easy to book and check out. Lovely house and rooms with excellent facilities and location. Very clean and tidy in fact it was immaculately presented. Decent parking in the area too. Owner is very proud of his business and I liked the fact he takes care to make sure guests are safe and sound and can enjoy their stay. Highly recommended accommodation.
Negative: Nothing I didn't like.but if I'm really splitting hairs and recognising I bought a basic single room , may be useful to have tea making facility in room and small TV perhaps but the lovely lounge and great kitchen more than compensates for this.

Positive: Good location with nice atmosphere when you step outside door. Was helped out at short notice by the owner who is very friendly and approachable. Stayed in small double room no.2 with an ensuite toilet and shower room. Kitchen dining area and lounge is shared but I was the only guest at the time so had it to myself.
