2 Bedroom House in Cook's Bay, Maharepa - Moorea

A traditional and charming Polynesian beach house located on a white sand beach on the beautiful island of Moorea. The home is situated in the village of Maharepa, on the north side of island. Less than 15 minutes away from the ferry boat and 10 mins from the airport.
Wonderful swimming and snorkeling off the white sand beach and the dock.
The dock is shared between three homes but it is private.
Lagoon & beach views from the two large master suites.
Each large master suite is on opposite ends of the house and each has views of the lagoon & even from the bed! Each master bedroom has AC. There is no AC in the living room. There is a ceiling fan.
The home is situated less than 5 minutes walking to a shopping center with a grocery store, wine shop, boutiques, restaurants, banks and post office.
The family home was built in 1970 and is the family home of one of the original Bali Hai Boys, the founders of the overwater bungalows in French Polynesia. The Manava Hotel was the original Bali Hai Hotel.

Summary: Everything was perfect! The house was perfectly located at walking distance to shops and bar/restaurants. Ideal spot to visit Moorea The house was really comfortable and having a beach as a backyard was just amazing. When the water was calm it was just an open aquarium: We saw so many beautiful fish and even baby sharks just walking in the water in front of the house On top of that, Bianca (host) was so nice and helpful during the whole stay. I cannot recommend more this house! Thank you again Bianca and Jay. Can't wait to be back in Moorea

Summary: This beachfront house is ideally located for a vacation in Moorea. You are within walking distance of a grocery store, multiple shops, restaurants and cafes. You're within 15 minutes drive of some of the best and most popular beaches on the island. It's a very safe location with off street parking. The house itself has two bedrooms one with two large beds the other with one large bed each with its own bath. The central area between the two rooms has your kitchen, living room and dining area with a large flat screen TV. There's good internet access throughout the house. There's a large covered porch where you can sit and enjoy the view. Only the two bedrooms are air conditioned which is typical in this region. There's a washer dryer on site. There is a dock that you can walk out onto and then get right into the water for snorkeling or swimming. The area directly in front of the house provides a great area for snorkeling. There are abundant small fish in this area and occasionally a turtle or a Stingray or a small reef shark. The swimming and snorkeling here is just as good overall is any other Beach on the island. Like many places the coral has been damaged so you're only going to see scattered pieces of recovering Coral here and there. It's mainly about the fish. There's a stand-up paddle board and two kayaks and also a supply of fins and masks. The house is well provisioned. The staff support is outstanding they are available on site most days should you have any questions.

Summary: My wife and I stayed here after staying at another house on a different part of the island. This location was the best with lots of restaurants, the reef, and things to do. Not to mention, the host Bianca greeted us with a lei on our pillow to celebrate our honeymoon. We used the paddle board, kayak, and much more during our stay. You’ll feel the soft sand on your toes, the warm water, and watch incredible sunsets at the end of the dock each night here at the house. We were thrilled by our stay and would recommend this house to anyone who is looking to come to Moorea. We will be back and will stay here again! Thank you, Bianca and thank you to Jay, too for the hospitality. You made our trip so special.

Summary: We had a fantastic stay. This home is right on the beach, and conveniently located to restaurants and shopping within walking distance. Bianca was a wonderful host, the home was clean, well stocked, and quiet. The sunsets were just incredible. There is a lot of sea life to view if you enjoy snorkeling. We would definitely stay here again.

Summary: We loved this house so much. It is exactly as you would want a Polynesian home on the sand to be. Coffee in the sand in the morning, wine and sunsets on the end of the dock in the evening. The snorkeling in the water our front was the best we found on Mo’orea anywhere. The dolphins, turtles, Black Tip Reef Sharks, and rays were in abundance. The added bonus was Jay, the owner. He is the originator or the over the water bungalow, and since he lives only steps away, we got to enjoy his stories and chat with him daily. Thank you for an amazing trip!

Summary: We loved the location. No car needed. Supermarket, great restaurants 2-5 min walk. Loved the dock, amazing snorkeling right there. So nice to have water toys. Loved meeting the neighbors and the owner. Take time to learn the history of the place. Perfect stay.

Summary: We had a wonderful time at Jay’s house. The location is great. We had our private beach. Kayak and paddle board were available for us to use. We kayaked to the reef. My son paddle board every day. The corals are very close and snorkeling was great. It was just 2 minutes away from local pastry, small supermarket, many nice restaurants and cafes. That was really convenient. The house is also very close to the Manava hotel. You can use their amenities . My children went to jet ski and snorkeling with arrangements by the hotel. Jay, the owner and Bianca, the manager, are great people. They are very helpful; we experienced the island more fully with their recommendations and help to make arrangements. Nothing can beat this beautiful place and people.

Summary: This home is charming, right on the ocean and you can paddle board or get in the canoon right from the home - both are supplied. Bianca the home manager was fantastic and let us know the night before, that we could check in any time that day, she was waiting for us and showed us around. She told us all about the area and was always incredibly helpful. We met Jay the owner, he is such an interesting man, and very charming - both are super sweet.It's a really big home, very native decorations and gorgeous artwork, and it was really clean too.We slept well with great sheets, and a lovely kitchen. I did suffer from mosquito bites because both bathrooms have gaps so they are not sealed. I think for most folks it's nothing but unfortunately I am allergic to mosquitoes, and I often was bitten in the bathroom :( This home is on a busy street and my boyfriend said the street noise bothered him but you couldn't hear it from the ocean patio. It's 5 mins walking distance to the supermarket for groceries and a delicious patisserie so the location is really awesome. There's a very nice hotel again 5 mins walking distance for happy hour or to watch their live music entertainment. It's a beautiful home and I do recommend it, plus Bianca and Jay are wonderful people!

Summary: This was our first trip to Moorea, but it will not be our last. The house location was fantastic, close to local shops and dining. The dock allowed our private boat tour to pick us up at the property. We loved paddling out to our own snorkeling area.
