Summary: Free upgrade to pool villa close to the resort restaurant because my wife’s mobility problem. Thank you. The resort restaurant LAstrolabe serves delicious French cusine.

Summary: Check in was great, fast and efficient. I was in my room within 5 minutes of checking in, including the golf cart ride to my villa. After settling in I did my quick inspections of the room as far as cleanliness. The only thing that didn't pass my inspection was the floor. It clearly had not been mopped especially the bathroom. It wasn't a big deal to me at the time because I always wear slides any way so it was something i could look past until later on in the night when i needed to use the toilet. Ied down to line the toilet seat with toilet paper. Thats when i noticed the strong, pungent, undeniable scent of urine. When i took a closer look at the toilet seat there where dried up splatter stains from pee and also dried up pee stains on the floor around the toilet. At this time it was around 1045 pm so i knew housekeeping wasn't available and especially on this type of property. I tried to call the front desk, just to see if i could get some cleaning spray and paper towels or something so i could quicky clean the toilet in my bathroom myself, but phone didn't ring when i dialed the number to the reception. So i make my way to the reception to see whats going on. What i didn't expect was for the reception to be closed and the doors locked and a sign on the door stating "no front desk staff is available after 10pm until 7am". There 2 were numbers to call on the sign. One for reception and one for

Summary: The beach is absolutely gorgeous. The restaurant is very cute and the resort feels safe and secure. The rooms are a little on the older side and not sound proof. Loved this area and would totally stay here again if there was an updated room.

Summary: The hotel is old but kept in good condition. The location is near perfect. On our previous stays we enjoyed very much the beach cafe directly from the hotel. It had great service and food, plus tiki huts for rent. This time the cafe was closed for renovation and we had to use the next one were the beach boys were outright rude and the food is mediocre. Stay away from KKO beach!

Summary: Location is amazing! Staff is too! Swimming pool right outside the patio door, mini kitchen worked great. L’Astrolabe breakfast was perfect and dinners were too! Fridays and Mondays are a do not miss. A few quick minutes to the beach where your chair awaits, with staff to help you there! The beach restaurant’s food is also amazing! If you do not rent a car, it is easy to get a taxi. I used the same person the whole time. He was great. This property is lovely and I would definitely come back! There’s bird watching, the surf is perfect, food, entertainment for my style, bar, and no clocks. It is lovely.

Summary: Lots of insects in the room, some weather stripping around the door would help alot as you could see daylight around the entire frame. We came back to the room one afternoon from the beach and turned the water on for a shower and it came out brown so we opted for the pool instead. Later that day the water was fixed but it made us think twice about whether we should be showering and brushing our teeth with it.

Summary: The property is nice, but there are mosquitoes in the room and we were all bitten and have red spots next morning. The beach is nice but too rough and you cannot swim. I am glad we only stayed one night otherwise I will be so upset not to be able to swim in the ocean since I am not a pool person

Summary: The Esmeralda Resort/Spa is an ideal place for those that like a quiet, detached, peaceful, and less crowded type setting. Its situated behind a beach bar at the north end of the bay. Cabins of 4 units share their own pool, thus making it quite cozy and private to lounge in your "own pool". The restaurant is fantastic for the quality of the food and its staff. The staff were extremely helpful, friendly, and as a single traveler, they engaged in conversation but not too much so seem invasive. Do not mistake the restaurant for being low cost--it was not. It can be on the pricy end to dine there, yet well worth it. The included continental brunch, was sort of blah, as there is nothing but carbs, and more carbs to eat. A small bowl of fruit is provided, along with 2 types of cereal, teas and coffee. If eggs or meats or anything else beyond bread (too much bread) is desired, then there is a menue available for those items at a cost. I highly recommend Esmeralda and would gladly stay again.
