8 Bedroom House in Wakefield-Peacedale, South Kingstown

Remarkable and stunning renovated historic home Circa 1880, notably called "The Wakefield" ~ This spacious home includes 8 bedrooms, 1st floor master suite that is handicap friendly, with a magnificent tiled walk/roll in shower. The kitchen is very spacious and open to dining and living area. Plenty of seating inside and out on the deck off the kitchen. Half bath off the kitchen as well as a laundry area. Second floor has 5 evenly placed bedrooms and 2 full bathrooms, as well as another laundry area. Third floor has a great common area perfect for kids to play games and watch TV, including 2 convertible chairs that lay out as a twin bed, along with 2 bedrooms on either side. All beds are memory foam for more comfort. The Carriage House where the game room is located has a new sectional sofa that pulls out for sleeping as well as a few aero beds and a 1/2 bath.
This house has central air/heat on 3 zones, WIFI, a rec room with central AC has been created in the original Carriage House, which includes a Pool table, Foosball table, 70" flat screen TV, sectional sofa, a small pub table/chairs, 1/2 bath, recessed lighting and fun decor. Our Tv's are Roku and WI-FI is with Cox Communications. In the garage you will find an extra fridge if needed, beach items and lawn chairs and games.
This is the perfect size house for family get togethers and reunions. The driveway allows for ample parking, and the 3/4 portion of the property is fenced to allow for privacy. Attached to the carriage house is spacious enclosed outdoor hot water shower.
There is a deck off the kitchen where we have extra seating and a grill.
The kitchen and dining are all open to each other with plenty of seating. All this is open to the large living area with a flat screen TV on the wall.
Enjoy your morning coffee on the slightly slanted front porch, which will pleasantly justify your experience sitting on a historic Circa 1880 front porch. We provide handicap ramps for those in need. If bringing a pet, there is a $100 pet fee.
We provide, beach chairs, beach towels, umbrellas, boogie boards, games to play, linens and bath towels, 2 sets of washers dryers, brochures and pamphlets of things to do in the area. There is a high chair, a pack-n-play and a foldable table if needed. Walking distance is a bike rental shop, called Stedman's Bikes. The bike path is also just about 200 yrds from the house.
Many local beaches including, Narragansett Town beach (great for surfing), Scarborough State beach, Roger Wheeler State beach and East Matunuck State beach; Golfer's paradise with 32 golf courses within 20 miles of Wakefield. South County Bike and Walking trails extend 8 miles and passes within 200 yards of the house. South Kingstown Dog Park, Entertainment Cinemas, Theatre by-the-Sea, Old Mountain Lanes Bowling, Old Mountain Field where the BEST firework display is, plus basketball courts, baseball field, skate park, tennis courts are located, South County Bike Trail extends 8 miles, Main Street in Wakefield, has a variety of shops of all kinds, and restaurants within walking distance. All of these places are in close proximity to the house.

Summary: We had 20 people stay for our wedding and it was awesome. The house is super spacious for getting ready in the morning. We even did our first look on the front porch. I recommend bringing a pillow if you are picky about them. Overall it was a wonderful property.

Summary: We had a great time at The Wakefield! The house had a great amount of space for our entire family and the carriage house was perfect for a quiet spot. The kitchen is fully stocked with all types of kitchen appliances and the double washer and dryers came in handy while traveling with children. Having the town within walking distance was wonderful. There are plenty of restaurants and even a grocery store a few blocks away. Our entire family had a great time!

Summary: We had an excellent stay at The Wakefield!! We had 16 adults and 5 toddlers fly in from 5 different states for a family reunion and the house was exactly as explained online. The property manager was exceptional at responding to questions. All the beds were comfortable and we had plenty of towels and beach towels and chairs for all. We catered in most of our food from a local vendor which was fantastic.

Summary: The house is in a perfect location, just off Main Street in Wakefield. Easy walk to dinner, ice cream, shopping, and entertainment. The house is spacious and has laundry on both the first and second floors. Ample parking even though we only had 5 cars, there was enough room for at least 3 more. The beaches are close but so is Newport, Providence, and Mystic. More than enough room for our young adults to hang out and play pool or foosball in the carriage house while the “old” folks hang out playing cards and board games in the main house. Just the perfect vacation spot for a large extended family.
