Summary: Place was beautiful with the sea views, sad the fridge wasn't working, could smell the fridge gas coming out, so turned it off for the remainder of our stay. Other then that we all lo ed our rooms.and the sea breeze and air coming through the house was amazing. Thank you David.

Summary: If you are seeking serenity by the sea away from the hustle and bustle of life this is a perfect place but there are some issues with the sleeping arrangements! The property only really catered for two double beds and a kids double bed with single bunk above. We were 7 adults and one was elderly which meant we had a couple who had no bed and had spent $320 for one nights stay!! I spent hours over email trying to get the property owner to help find a solution but he insisted there was plenty of beds citing that there were double mattresses in the garage and a sofa bed. The mattresses in the dusty, dirty, cobwebby garage were singles, had no covers on them and it was therefore safe to assume they were dirty/dusty. The sofa bed was broken ( legs bent) and unsafe! The additional bedding sheets were also in the garage in a cubhard and looked tired. I took videos and pictures… We stayed for two nights and only 3 of us stayed the second night because of the uncomfortable kids bunk. In relation to adjusting the price for a refund the last communication from the owner stated that he would have his partner view the numbers of people staying on camera and we still haven’t had a refund!! For a balanced review the two adult double beds we’re comfortable and therefore the property would suit two couples and three children sharing the bunk.

Summary: Totally recommend this location - we all loved it.. the views and spaces were awesome and suited our family. Awesome dining, entertaining area and great to have separate bathrooms. We only discovered the aircon on our last night - but I didn't actually look through the full compendium - which would have saved a few mossie bites. We loved the location - we will be back with friends again.

Summary: My family and I stayed here the night before my wedding, the house was clean and inviting, beautiful views, quiet neighbourhood and was a relaxing space. The house can definitely not sleep 13 however but was comfortable with the 8 we had stay as we bought along a double air mattress. Come prepared with basics such as tea/coffee/sugar/milk and body wash, overall a comfortable and relaxing stay.

Summary: A wonderful location for a family celebration and gathering. David’s place is very comfortable, quiet, with amazing views, good off street vehicle parking for several vehicles and adequately set up for a larger group. Comfortable beds, nice linen/towels etc. Two good bathrooms to share. Highly recommend for a larger group.

Summary: My family and I stayed at the Muriwai house for 4 days over New Year’s Eve. I’ll start this review by saying we had a great time and overall, I’d rate this property a 4 out if 5 for the following reasons: Pros: -Amazing location with incredible views. You’re less than half a mile walk from the ganet colony and you’ve got 180 degree views of some of the most amazing coastline right from the living room. that alone is probably worth the price of admission. - the living room and kitchen space was large enough for us to comfortably hang out without feeling cramped. Great indoor/outdoor vibes - David the property manager was very responsive and easy to deal with. He allowed us early check in and was quick to help with any issues or questions - plenty of parking for 2+ cars - short downhill walk or 2 min car ride to the beach/sand dunes cafe. -great outdoor space for barbecues and outdoor dinners in the summer -well stocked books and cards etc for indoor fun - large tv and pinball machine (we didn’t use) - short drive from some fun hikes -only 30-40mins from Auckland CBD Cons: - lack of some basics; as others have mentioned you’ll need to bring your own soaps, cleaning supplies (sprays etc) but that’s not a big deal. - the front door was absolutely unuseable and needs to be replaced asap. It’s on a google nest keypad (keyless) and is clearly old/malfunctioning. We got locked out several times because it wouldn’t fully open the deadbolt and it was a nuisance. - mold: there’s definitely a mold issue that needs to be looked at particularly in the master bedroom/tv room. Noticed the carpet got a little damp after the shower was used. One of our parties allergies we’re definitely impacted. - air conditioning unit in the master bedroom area was malfunctioning and at one point had giant icicles hanging off of it (and making really loud noises). Nice to have given the upstairs does get quite hot in summer but it Needs to get checked - I really don’t think you could have 13 people in this house as that would be a bit tight. There are 3 bedrooms (one with bunks) and then some mattresses in the garage that I guess you could pull out, but it’d be cramped. Overall, we had a good time at a fun beachouse in a great part of Auckland

Summary: Great spot. Tidy and has lovely views. No chance of accomodating 13 people as advertised however it was not required. Very minimal in way of cleaning stuff/fridge space and tea towels etc but we enjoyed our stay. Thanks.
